Thanks everyone! The owner picked it up last week and his response after
first test drive was that it felt similar to his M5! We think this car would be a great candidate and one of the more unique entries in the OPTIMA Invitational, what do you think?
Finally got a few good pics.....
E-garage also did a video last week, I'll post soon.

It could win OUSCI on style points alone. ;)

That should be a feature car, what a great project.

Thanks guys! The owner stopped in yesterday and is loving it and putting miles on it whenever he can. He gave me the green light to run it at Optima if we were invited but it seems its not flashy enough for SEMA...:( oh well..

Lets do it!

There's flashy then there's classy.

I think it would be the most stared at car at OUSCI if it made it.

What a beautiful car :hail: If there is such a thing called a gentlemans hot rod... this is it

Funny you should say that, when Bob stopped in with the car yesterday, he was just coming from the office, dressed in his suit and tie!

Took the Riv for a few easy laps on the Autocross at Goodguys in Pleasanton yesterday. The suspension works very well for its intended purpose, such a fun car to drive or just cruise in comfort!

Steve,

Always good to see that Riv...and even better to hear it.

Thanks, when the rendering was done, we weren't sure exactly how stock appearing we were going to go with this but, yes I think the 18's are a perfect fit on this car. Tire sizes are 275 45 18 and 245 50 18 and should give a very comfortable ride.

Original engine and trans are gone already

===========================
How are you making the 245 front and 275 rear tires work inside the fenders?

I was able to get anything close to that.

Thanks,

Ty

BTW: I think the 65 Riv's are the best of all the years. They looked like a custom car when they came out of the factory. Especially the front end with the hidden lights, absolutely way ahead of its time. The cars need nothing.

Ty, Remember we have a RS front crossmember in the front and we came up with our version of the 3 link in back along with coilovers. We did keep the rear wheelwells stock though and minimal mods to the front. So the tires do fit in the wheelwells but probably not with factory suspension. IDK, never tried.

BTW,In this months HOT Rod there is a feature on it!
