I like it so far, no play, slop or movement noticed. Clips on tight. I like the shallowness. I'll look up the model and get back to you!.. =)

No, still stock. I can tell you that sharp turns are a bit challenging. Tires do rub on the frame a bit on making u-turns. no problem auto crossing on the one time I took it.

Definitely affected my turning radius, but not noticeable on everyday driving.
Don't see it as a problem at all.

LS6 .. apparently this crankshaft pully had a recall and or it was built ****ty, and was known for detonating and screwing up peoples underhood. Well, I was a lucky one. It's back on the road, got a new ATI pully, Had to replace water pump, weld up a hole int he new Stainlessworks Exhaust and change out hoses. Glad it happened close to home. Still looking forward to driving it. Rain = no go!.

Great action shot. I am planning to leave all the trim on my SS/RS 67 as well and this warms my heart. I have the same factory, unsealed, SS 350 gas cap and was wondering if it would slosh fuel overboard. I was thinking of installing some sort of check valve and probably this awesome photo answered that question.
Keep up the good work!

Nice work Art - how did your son enjoy the outing? Is he getting close to driving it? :)

Wish we could have stopped... we were in Monterey for the weekend and I saw some autocrossers on the road to and fro.

Thank's Scott.. yea trying to keep the RS/SS part somewhat noticeable, definitely like it with the trim. I did ditch the wheel trim tho.

You know for a quiet kid, he really seemed to enjoy it. He says he's ready for the next weekend!.. I kept asking him which of all the cars that were out that day he preferred to try, and he kept to the 67' Camaro.... so.. I think I got him hooked too!.. yea!!:D

Dude! You were soo close!.. honestly.. I should have hit you up, and at least should have had you stop in to get behind the wheel real quick and loosen up some of those cob webs you have under your elbows!.. :poke:
Were you in the wagon?

Yep, a little gas leakage. looks like I need to add some gaskets and fuel up less.

Going to an alum cell... Aeromotive Stealth with
an in tank A1000 pump, baffles, etc... I have an external A1000
pump now

SS tank is too heavy and also want to have a little
more room at the rear for the exhaust

My cap has leaked before also at Good Guys so I
had a warning in the past

Awesome Camaro! And you are an inspiration. I have the same car that is numbers matching and want to mini tub as well. Had the car since 1995 and it's been sitting in primer ready for paint since 1997. Never wanted to finish it since everyone was telling me not to cut it. Going to cut on it soon.

Good stuff! .. cut it!... I too was in turmoil.. on weather or not to cut...... best decision I've made. no regrets. I know it upped the car's value... to a pro-touring guy... not a concourse guy (boring). Good luck on your build!

Hi,

No, no true-turn on this front clip. Was planning on it with the previous front clip i built, but ended up getting this LS motor/Tranny set up with DSE parts.
Actually sold that front clip that had the tru-turn.

califconstruct 01-15-2018 01:43 PM

I'll have to dig up the tag. I remember not letting my foot off until i was well past the mark.... actually I didn't really know where the "mark" was. Adrenalin was pumping. Take off was ****ty.. Nervous jitters gave me tunnel vision. stock Speedo was pegged, I was running out of track.. laid on the break and got her a little sideways. Whooo nelly!.. ....I should have ran again.

Definitely enjoying it when I get the chance.
If this coming year is anything like last year... I won't be doing any Optima. Thankfully my businesses have been inundated with projects, so getting away for extra days makes it a task.. especially since I like to take the family on some exotic, lengthy vacations!. Kids are in their teen high-school years, and focusing on getting that quality time with them.

Also..., I have Vince@Meanstreets performance tweeking some items. Mainly my brakes. Baer 6p front and back, however I have been having some serious issues with "Knockback", which makes driving it challenging. Literally had to pump the brakes twice to get them to grab. So we changed out a new Baer remaster master cylinder and the booster. That unit helped, but made it too sensitive, so changing to a smaller size bore. Hoping this solves that issue. otherwise I'm ditching the booster.

Suspension needs some love in the shock department.

waynieZ 01-06-2019 08:39 PM

Sweet! Congratulations, the car looked great.
