Some of my pixs
Just found this thread and thought I'd post a few pixs. I don't have a fancy camera but I take it everywhere and as a Fisheries Biologist I am outdoors in some really kool places in Colorado. It beats a cubical
I'll just let Colorado do the talking ... http://img804.imageshack.us/img804/4735/cdow030.jpg http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/4424/120609797.jpg Didn't turn out as well as I thought. |
Good enough for me Chief. Where in CO are you located? Thanks for posting.

Awesome!!!
Rupp always said "the best camera is the one you have with you". |

I have plenty more  |
Nice! I actually haven't explored any of the northern region in CO. Denver and Brighton are as far north as I have been. Well, except for the far western side anyway. I really want to go see places like Steamboat Springs and the Rocky Mountain National Park.

Over 36K acres burned and 0 percent contained as of this morning .... too dry out here! There was ash all over my truck this morning and the smell of smoke was like a cloud hanging over the city. Bless the firefighters who are in harms way right now. |
Oh, no doubt! I've been following the news loosely on the fires. For now, I'll be staying in the southern regions. Trinidad and Pueblo are the closest major cities to me. I'd really like to hit Leadville and Pagosa Springs. The San Juan range was my favorite place to visit when I lived in Grand Junction. I'd also really like to hit up the Durango Silverton narrow gauge train ride. Maybe I can pull off some nice pictures of that to show everyone?

I've had a Tranny similar to that (on the Power Tour no less, in front of a ton of people on a dyno!), but never had a crank like that one!! WTF happened?!?!:wow:

Pixs from CO
Went up to Horsetooth Res last night to conduct our sonar surveys and took the sunset pix of the fire and the sunset - kinda eerie pretty.
The cage is for our tethered ROV that will deploy concurrent with the sonar surveys and give us a video feed of the fish that we pass over. Made it from 3/16 Al and painted a met black and then baked it for an hour in our oven at work ... going out tonight to get video for the first time. http://img835.imageshack.us/img835/3690/120619881.jpg Smoke from High Park fire and sunset. http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/3307/120619875.jpg I made this for our ROV to protect the unit! I'll have more pixs from the ROV tonight when we put her to work .... |

My daughter wanted to play with sparklers last night. My wife grabbed the camera..... Nora thought it was pretty cool to see her name after we showed her the picture. Not too bad.......only took 2 tries.......using the bedside on my truck to rest the camera.

http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/...enti/pic33.jpg OK, I know what you did... when you go the the image in Photobucket, right click on it and choose "View Image." Once you have that version of the image up, that's the one you can copy the address to and paste here. The address you pasted (minus the http): //s1170.photobucket.com/albums/r530/mikearmienti/?action=view¤t=pic33.jpg The address you get on "View Image" (minus the http): //i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r530/mikearmienti/pic33.jpg Shiny Side Up! That's a 50" fireworks shell casing - I was/am an internationally licensed pyro... and I was at a munitions plant in Korea (Hanwha Corp). They were going to "attempt" to put this bad boy up from a barge in the Yellow Sea. I never heard whether or not they were successful. Just for reference - I've done shows all over the world and the largest shell I ever handled is 12"... Very few shows shoot 12" shells. Most are 6's and 8's... |
That certainly puts it in perspective. It would seem the rocket part would have to resemble a bloated 55 gal drum or bigger just to approach dimensions resembling proportional.:_paranoid
