Hehe...http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/...psemreruoc.jpg |
Should be covered for the next few holidays and special events
So I probably should show what's in the box. Well, after much deliberation she decided on Forgeline GZ3's, gloss gunmetal centers and polished step-lip hoops. Ended up with 18x9.5's and 18x11's. Currently a 265/315 combo, but it sure looks like a 275 will go up front no sweat. We couldn't be happier with how they transformed the car. The finish goes so good with the paint color(s). There has been lots of other updates that haven't been posted yet, more about those after some pics of the wheels. Had to roll it outside in the daylight. Note: ride height is close, but not set and no alignment yet. The rear has like 2" of toe and 3+ degrees of negative camber... http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/...pshtlltkl6.jpg http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/...pswgub8ivy.jpg http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/...pse4zsyuxp.jpg http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/...psehiyggrt.jpg http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/...psauhzlqka.jpg Oh, and the mating plate from my ride, G-Velle...:D http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4dny0uiw.jpg Thanks again to Billy at B&B Classics for working out the sizing on the wheels and the order. Guys, give him a call if you are buying! As far as other updates, not nearly as exciting as new rollers!, we did get the motor started about two weeks ago. Fired right up, ran pretty good right out of the gate without setting timing or messing with the Holley Ultra HP at all. Sounds pretty good too. We still have several issues to work thru on the front accessories, get the radiator in, wire the electric fans, finish the brake system, install the column and seats. Few loose ends underneath too. Got a set of Ridetech HQ single adjustable front coilovers and smooth bodies for the rear. Need to mod the front lower control arms to drop the lower mount. Due to limited clearance through the frames, the upper stud mount needs to be extended to push the coilover down, therefore the lower mount needs to be moved down as well. Aftermarket arms are in our future, but for now we'll leave the stock (modified) stuff in there. Can't wait to go for a cruise in it. |
Looking good Aaron

Aaron, Just finished catching up on about four pages of updates. Wow, how did I miss those. Vettes, man I love them. My wife does too. It's her dream car. One day, I'll hope to find her one.
The wheels made the ride. Brought a whole new attitude to it. Keep at it. :king: |
Love the wheel selection!

Aaron, I run 275 Falkens on my 17 x 9.5s and they fit great. Shouldn't be a problem for you the next time you need front tires either. I agree that the wheels really fit and look great on the car. Billy did a great job sizing them for you.
|
Those wheels look awesome! Great choice. You are making great progress.
|
I've been a little too busy with moving my shed and then running to Sonoma to cruise many threads and missed the latest updates here! That turned out just better than great. The pic with the "Happy....." on the wheel boxes busted me up and I need to remember it! <and steal the idea>
Nicely done Aaron! |
So much awesomeness in this thread!!!
|
Those wheels could not be any more perfect!
Will not make it to Pitt, my 12 yr old has a soccer tourney that weekend. |
Looks great Aaron!

It is truly amazing the difference the wheels made. Literally the wheels and polished side exhaust is the only difference from when we bought the car (exterior wise that is...). Quote:

Duuuh-ammmm!!!
Aaron,
Those wheels look like crap!!! Put them back in the box and send them to me, I'll pay the shipping to help ya out....because I like you  Seriously, they look awesome and strike the right blend of modern with that vintage paint and body mods. I cant wait to see this car out and running the track...WAY COOL!! UUUGH, I need to get going on my 65 coupe, I'm having mid year withdrawals!! Here is a little teaser shot of it..... Wow! I see you're going all out again with the 65..SRIII, 9 in. too. Hope RonS doesn't see it. |
Aaron, the wheels changed the car completely!! It's soooo different from the smaller AR. Love it!!

I know, that's why the location of the car is Top Secret...that crazy dude would slip in during the cloak of darkness and make off with it and glue his new AMX fiberglass nose on it!! :stirthepot: No doubt Ron would build a killer C2 if he could find one, good project mid years are getting to be like hens teeth and then just cost too much. R/ Jeff |
Anything new going on? :popcorn2:
|
lol, yeah life :headspin:
Ben getting a few things done, but mostly trying to keep the Chevelle going and doing events. Got some cool press on Forgeline's site. That's pretty cool. Got the front control arms off to modify for Ridetech coilovers. Need to wrap up the brake lines, think I have everything for those now. A little wiring (electric fan and new alternator) left to do. A punch list of small things that add up to a lot of time still to do. I'm off the event schedule for 3 weeks, so I hope to get it on the road soon. Winter's almost here, geesh... |
Aaron, I just read through all 16 pages. I know you told me the story, but it was cool to see all the extra pics.
Very nice ride!! Kerry |
I understand that! I have had to switch from working on my Vette to getting repairs done to my snowplow. I hope this winter isn't as bad as last.
Great exposure on the Forgeline site. Those wheels look fantastic. |

The Forgeline guys are great, they actually came to me for the story on the car which I thought was pretty cool. We are very happy with the look. Hopefully I'll have some good progress to show in the next couple of days...:headspin: |
:woot: it moves under its own power! First test drive tonight at 10:30pm. Nothing like side pipes to wake up the neighbors:action-smiley-027:
Video proof as soon as photobucket posts that it is available. Still lots to do, needs carb tuning for sure, bleed the brakes again, put the hood on... Edit: the "burnout" video...a few donuts in the (wet) grass :) http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/...psmammz6b8.mp4 |
I do not see anything so it didn't happen?? :bitchslap: :mock:
