Next Saturday they start the Salon collection sale at 1:00 pm Arizona time. The Mule is the 19th car in. 5019. If they spend about 3 minutes a car it will go around 2:00pm

I dunno. Somehow the terms "Salon" and "The Mule" just don't fit together.

Just think wild Wild West and it will make sense......

Given the bidding I've seen so far --- EL Mule fetches 400K

I feel good for the guys selling this year . The money clips look as loose as a hooker on pay day. Awesome.

Stielow 01-16-2014 05:29 AM

I'm going to Barrett Jackson now to see the Mule and VIN #001 Z/28 get auctioned off. Should be cool.

Mark

Right on! That should be cool. With the "Godfather" of Pro Touring there also endorsing Mule - I would think the price of Poker just went up!

Don't forget to take some books to sell!!!!

Den69RS96 01-16-2014 08:28 AM

Mark,

Did you sign the glove box door of each car. Then they would bring the big $$.

Jay Hilliard 01-16-2014 01:44 PM

I bet Rick Hendrick will win the Z28 auction just like the first ZL1 and ZR1.

You read my mind. I'm thinking he snags both. Both includes the Mule

I was sitting front row a couple years ago -- and wanted a nice '67 Vette that seemed to be stalled out at the right price -- so I put a bid in... Then another bidder jumped in -- I looked around and it's Hendrick sitting about 4 chairs away ... I quit bidding... you're not going to buy something that he wants. LOL

Don't know if you guys know this --- but the chairs are filled with the guys that spend the most money --- Ron Pratt is the center of the known universe -- his chairs are the very front row -- center.... the guys to the right and left have (over time) spent less - either as buyers or sellers... and rows back are less and so on. You can't even get into the area where the big boys sit -- The first 5 or 6 rows are roped off and guarded and their name is on the chair(s).
My neighbor has 4 chairs -- front row about 10 from the center... THUS I WAS ALLOWED TO SIT THERE... Pretty nice!

V8TV 01-18-2014 12:52 PM

hifi875 01-18-2014 01:14 PM

Good price. I was hoping for a little more for you though. They just bought the most iconic 69 camaro

Sieg 01-18-2014 01:15 PM

Not too bad!

Did the '71 Vette at 400+ possibly stop it from breaking 200?

I agree, someone got a great deal on that one!

GregWeld 01-18-2014 01:31 PM

A fair price.... lower than I hoped for but that's just a personal "wish" for Charley.

The way they've been throwing around money - I thought it might push 300K....

DOOM 01-18-2014 01:36 PM

Do we know who it went to?

RussMurco 01-18-2014 01:50 PM

I noticed the high bidder also bought that Barris monstrosity, Asteroid!

SSLance 01-18-2014 03:11 PM

Dang, I was pretty close. Guessed $174,900

Boss 5.0 01-18-2014 03:11 PM

I have always thought Barris was over rated. The only car he ever built that I like was the Hirahota Merc.
