Actually i was working with Daniel Ward at Truckin and we talked about doing a similar spread that your doing with the 57. But it looks like they choose your truck over mine :( . But i truly agree they choose the better truck. Your truck is totally awesome. I keep thinking about my next project and you guy's are top on my list of builders that i would choose.

If you want send some pics over to Bob and see what he thinks if there still interested in the truck.

ps - Sport Truck has agreed to do a feature on the truck once it complete.

ironworks 02-07-2007 08:16 PM

Bob is coming tommorrow for another article and photoshoot of the chassis on my truck. I don't know about my truck won over your story, but I know that Bob is the most selfless mag guy I have ever met. He has no hidden agendas. I have dealt with a handful of magazine guys and know one compares to him. He is truly a car guy 1st and a writer 2nd.

Thanks for the compliment on the projects. I have a very talented crew and we get some work done. We have 4 projects going on in the shop that should set the bar pretty high. With those projects I just have to thanks the owners for suppling the financing to build these awesome pieces of work. The Hard work and skills are nothing if you can't pay the bills..

Wow that is going to be on kick a$$ Nova,i don't think you need any help with hinges hahahahha. who is building it?

ironworks 02-13-2007 10:04 PM

Oh and just to be clear the Cd is the one from Mission Impossible with the complete knock list. Nothing really important.

And the Nova is being built by a rag tag group of hillbillies form baker-tucky.

Sorry about the hijack john, i can let you look at the knock list to make up for the hijack.

Headers!

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...13-2007003.jpg

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...13-2007010.jpg

Again! anything you see that doesn't seem to make sense please feel free to point out!

The Rag-Tag Krew from Baker-tucky is none other than the boys at Ironworks Speed and Kustom/Bakersfield, California.

Ya shoulda' seen the last time I was up there! The guys had to go do some errand and when they came back I coulda' sworn that it was a bunch of pirates! All you woulda' had to have done is imagine the truck they were in as a Pirate ship and an eye patch here and there and it would have been complete!LOL!

John

deuce_454 02-15-2007 12:15 AM

the fabrication looks plain awesome, and the car will be fantastic... but i can however see somthing that troubles me.. and that is the tube that holds the front shock mount, i assume it will also be th emount for the front UCA, it looks long twisty and unsupported, it will take alot of changing loads and needs to be stiffened up considerably (i know that it is propably in the works but you asked fi we could see anything fishy)

other than that i hate you, and i want your car!

Thank you for hating me! In an odd way it makes me feel good that you would say that because it shows me that you like my ideas that much. The spaces inbetween the DOM will be supported with mild steel inserts along with our tying the front end with the custom radiator support that we will be building for the car. Rht now the emphasis is to finish the rear end and cage and, when we are ready with the UCA's we will start building the front support but thanks for the input!

I need to say at least one more time that the ideas that you are all seeing is not just my vision but a collaborative effort with the shop and in particular, Rodger Lee, the owner of Ironworks. He has been the driving force in making my dreams a reality! Thanks Rodger!(I owe you and the boys a steak dinner BTW!)

No Worries my Friend! It's hard to express what you mean in just words(Thus the smilies!) sometimes! A lot of guys on these boards take things the wrong way or assume the worst but I always give everyone the benefit of the doubt that they are trying to be nice or sarcastic which is fine! I always like a good post! Thanks again for checking out the build and I'm glad you like where the car is going!

I would assume that you have a Chevy II with a 454?
