So you built the parts out of metal or foam, then digitized them, cleaned them up in the software, then CNC machined them out of wood before hand laying up the molds and then the final parts ?

Ok that's a little more involved then I'm going to be able to replicate in my carport/shed.

Insane. Yeah,.....that E brake handle looks great. Old school Vans! :)
Looks like you guys are busy too. Lots of cars in the background.

With the shell back from powdercoating, it could head toward the paint shop for the color scheme layout and paint:

Thankfully the whole paint job only took about 2 minutes!....

Since you have all the plugs sitting around collecting dust just in case of an issue.....How long until a Rampage body kit will be available???

We have been asked this quite a lot.
With the vastly different than stock ride height, track width, suspension, chassis etc, it simply wouldn't work with a 'non-rampage' Camaro.

If you want us to build you one though...

cpd004 01-14-2015 04:10 PM

A few years back, I had some old vintage gas cans I threw up on Craigslist. Someone sent an email saying he would take them and came right out to pick them up. Turned out it was someone from the Roadster Shop. He said they were putting together a room to take pics of cars in using vintage stuff. Can't remember his name, but was a nice guy who took some pics of my 79 Trans Am while he was here. Probably talked for about an hour and a half about car stuff.

Fitz78ta 01-14-2015 05:44 PM

This is seriously absolutely retarded!

Wow, you guys have absolutely raised the bar again. The engineering of this thing is a work of art. My jaw just keeps hitting the floor on this build.

   :waveflag:

Vince@Meanstreets 01-14-2015 10:08 PM

wow, i thought you guys wrapped the car. nice work.

Me too Vince. Makes this impressive build, even more so.

Payton King 01-15-2015 06:53 AM

How has the powder coat hold up to heat on the floor and firewall? I thought that it melted around the 400 F mark and I have been in some cars, well Ron S. blue mustang, that melted my shoes.

Was wanting to do the same thing to the interior to the car I am building instead of paint.

dontlifttoshift 01-15-2015 07:45 AM

It cures at 400*, I would expect the powdercoating to be more durable than paint.

Rad Rides - Blow fish is fully powder coated and doesn't seem to have an issue.

ps - I watched it go through the over

I agree here... .shouldn't have an issue

A lot of powder is baked is baked around 500 degrees roughly unless your using low temp powders.

dave96dcm 01-15-2015 03:48 PM

The powders that cure at 400 are usually good for sustained 300 degrees. A air gap and a thin piece of stainless would cure most of the exhaust heat issues.

Geez who's funding this build tax payers!? This is an AMAZING build! So much engineering and thought put into this thing. Lexan windows that roll down! ? Really! ? :hairpullout:

Words cannot describe how much I enjoy watching this build...

You mean its not a Go Pro promotion car and will not be located at its head quarters in San Mateo? 5 miles from my shop? :(

Love the pics - now go back and fix the broken link

Nope - sorry!
The car was always a customer's venture. GoPro offered us the booth spot for SEMA, (which required the logos) which was awesome, but now everyone knows it as the 'GoPro' Camaro...

syborg tt 02-10-2015 02:52 PM

When my Camaro grows up I want it to be just like this one.

yes, it sure is. Everytime i see this beast more and more stuff pops out. I spent 15 min or so at SEMA looking at it, and didn't even scratch the surface. Kinda like looking at an iceberg...there both cool and you only see 10% of it..

Sixty9Commodore 02-11-2015 01:28 AM

I love those Lotus rearlights, would like to have set of them in my project, but they are too expensive new and hard to find used set.

Just when I thought I'd seen enough dam Camaros . . . great concept, execution and craftsmanship. Once again the Roadster Shop proves they are one of the top builders on the continent.

were the windows/tracks based on a kit or completely custom?
