Looks great !! Can I ask a question here for lack of knowledge on my part ? The 100 amp MP circuit breaker goes to the battery in trunk ?? Also, couldn't one use a fusible link in place of the 100 amp breaker ?? Just curious. I will be wiring my battery in the trunk to the fuse panel up front for my LS3 swap. Thank you very much!!

Fusible links are fine for smaller gauge. All of my wires are 4 gauge and above. |

nice build! Are you running the AFX spindle? I couldn't tell from you pics earlier.

More minor updates. Been plugging away on the wiring and plumbing..still
I previously showed shots of the main rear brake line but here it is installed. http://i.imgur.com/71cuJWx.jpg http://i.imgur.com/tPlfQCk.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Igdb5X2.jpg http://i.imgur.com/x4dhwcV.jpg I utilized some weld tabs, stainless spacers and Notchead clamps for the rear portion. This places the hard tubing tucked away in the cavity near the rear end housing. I will use a flex hose to go from here to the rear housing Tee connection. http://i.imgur.com/3mW8d3n.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Nw32u1Q.jpg I received my first hose assemblies back using BRMS fittings and hose. I also have the next set mocked up and ready to ship out for assembly. http://i.imgur.com/oMtl12G.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Z3cVCvp.jpg I was able to squeeze my radium engineering catch can onto the core support. The hose assemblies ready to ship out in the above pictures actually are for the catch can and the steam ports http://i.imgur.com/gtxVYVR.jpg And just to show some of the detail on the wiring I included the below picture. I am labeling every connection on the car under clear heat shrink. I need to take some more pictures this weeked. I am actually getting close to having the body harness of the car pretty much done and laid out. http://i.imgur.com/nH9Xe9r.jpg I have a few more parts on the way as of this week. I ordered my master cylinder and hydroboost unit so I can complete the brake hard lines. Getting closer to getting this think started up for the first time... |
Just went through your entire build, wow!! Great attention to detail. Every part of your car looks extremely well executed :king:

Holy crap, I think I'm in love:hail: :hail:

Looking good !! Steve |
Steve - I remember seeing your car done and going...man did we just build the same car lol...
Crazy enough I didn’t see your build until I had all my parts and color finalized. Guess great minds think alike?? |

Wow! Awesome job! I went through the whole build & was impressed with the attention to detail.. I’m building a 64 Chevy 2 & I’m OCD with the build... hoping it comes out as good as your build.. thanks for the detailed pics.. a lot of good ideas!

So its kinda crazy that its been almost three years since an update. But over that time I worked out of town for two years, built and moved into a new house (including a new shop). Good news is I am back and it and hoping to finish up the car by end of the summer. I will give you guys a few quick updates and hopefully get back to updating this more often...
First things first...the new shop. Its a 30x30 attached garage with 13' ceilings. Fully foamed walls and ceiling. Wired for speakers and TV. Much better than my old setup :G-Dub: https://i.imgur.com/BNDclUR.jpg?1 https://i.imgur.com/Awrq02f.jpg?1 https://i.imgur.com/EqBFHoX.jpg?1 Had to get the rearend powdercoated due to a poor job from the original supplier. But now I can finish brake lines and install it for good. https://i.imgur.com/iP96kHO.jpg -20AN Upper Radiator hose done. Waiting on one more fitting and I can finish the lower hose. https://i.imgur.com/9jYr7ET.jpg Intake tube mocked up. Still need to trim the 45, measure and order filter but after that, this part will be done https://i.imgur.com/PKnefnd.jpg Have a lot of parts out to powdercoat right now and once those come back in I will be able to do final assembly. Car is also going to exhaust shop next week to have a full 3" stainless exhaust installed. Once that is done...I can finally crank the car. |
I love seeing it this close for you, the engine bay looks amazing. The cabinets are sweet! Heck it's all SWEET! I wish I had that much room for something that big. I love it, enjoy the hell out of it.

Glad to hear you're home, In the new home and back to working on the car. Killer build and I am looking forward to seeing more.

No cool pictures this time but car is at exhaust and I have the rest of my interior as well as brakes and door glass ordered. So hopefully in the next 2-3 weeks we will be ready for first fire up and a few weeks after that, first drive!
|
Sweet! I love those first start ups!
|
Just skimmed your build looked at all the pics, great parts and attention to detail,
I did the same thing you did, built my shop in 14' and then moved to Virginia for 5 years, barely touching the car, moved back a year ago and been hard at it this year, |

Figured I would post up a few pictures. Exhaust is done. I probably should have stuck with 2.5" to leave a little more room for clearance but I think I will be ok.
https://i.imgur.com/XYsQygq.jpg https://i.imgur.com/HKMwS75.jpg My Anvil door sills arrived as well https://i.imgur.com/SItRn44.jpg I also started working on the door glass. Not a fun process. I found some great videos on youtube though and they have helped a ton. Hope to actually get some door glass in soon. https://i.imgur.com/wxBUHsg.jpg And I finally got my brakes ordered. I was dead set on running 6 piston Baer brakes but unfortunately my wheel specs, spindle and clearance won't allow for it. Its a long story, but my only option was to either rehoop my front wheels (800 a piece) and use my ATS spindles and Baer Brakes. Or I can go with Wilwood using stock spindle. Even the Wilwood are going to require me to switch over to a taller Forgeline center cap in order to clear the hub dust cap. In short, the pad on my wheels were machined down to have a deeper offset, this killed the caliper and hub clearance..live and learn. Good news is I can still run 14" rotors with the Wilwood, so I am sure it will stop just fine lol. |

Must just be the angle. Its not that far off the firewall. This was early on too, I may not have had everything in the right place.

What backspace did you end up ordering the wheels? |
