Got the car back Friday night and started working on it this weekend was able to get the front fenders, header panel and valance on it got to wait to install the nose and bumper filler panels till I get the bumpers chromed. Also got all of the z06 brakes installed. I do have to say Tobin does make a nice kit real easy to install and all of the brackets are quality pieces. Now on to wiring the whole car should be fun have many hours ahead of me.

I edited out the photos because quote-replying and leaving photos in the quote should be illegal. But this one in particular:

zj510 08-29-2016 06:39 PM

Sorry for not posting any updates lately its been a mad dash rush to get the car done for the nationals. Only had 5 weeks to get the car all back together after getting it back from paint so didn't get many pictures of the build so here are the final put together pictures.

nicely done, stance is absolutely perfect

ScotI 09-08-2016 05:14 PM

This thing really turned out super nice. From the humble start, you really did an awesome job.

What are the specs of the motor (I saw where you listed it as LS w/a 6spd but not much other detail)?
How is the FITech set-up working for you? Any regrets vs going w/an factory FI?

ULTM8Z 09-09-2016 05:58 AM

Looks phenomenal!!

Question- what hood is that?

slenning 09-09-2016 06:38 AM

Wow!! That is so bad ass. Turned out great!

Thanks guys!!

Its a 5.3 from a 2004 tahoe I had the heads ported and bigger valves and installed a different cam other then that the motor is pretty much stock. The fitech so far is going good only a couple of little things that need to be smoothed.

Its the stock hood i took the rear cowl vent out of it and adapted a c7 corvette hood vent in the front of it.

Care to elaborate on what the "little things" you're experiencing are?

One of them was the idle stayed up a little when coming to a stop but i got that figured out by adjusting the iac. The other one i am experiencing is when going full throttle fast it seems to hesitate a little bit but if i ease into it, it has no issues.

Thanks for the info. I'm goig to help install one of these FITech kits on a buddys 71 ElCamino. It's semi radical (427sbc; 10.5:1; AFR 235's; agressive hyd roller profile/low vacuum & a Victor intake) so I'm concerned. I tried talking him into doing the Holley Terminator or something similar but the FITech guys are telling him it will work fine & he likes their price + easier appearing install.

Hi Zak....Once again, car is stunning!! On your front end set-up, what control arms, shocks, spindles did you use. I'm in the planning process on my 70 build...already have the 12 bolt and quadra-link set up. While my car will most likely see a little auto cross....it will be mostly a street car with a bunch of LS HP (LSA). For the driving you have done...how do you feel the front end components you chose are working out?? The stance on your car is killer!! I am leaning towards the DSE front sub, but that comes at a cost..... However, the numbers (cost) for control arms, shocks, spindles, steering box, sway bar seem to approach the cost for an aftermarket.....

Thanks, Dave

I have the global west upper and lower control arms and did the custom works performance coil over conversion that is a bracket welded in the pocket not just the coil spring coil over. I went with the cpp c5 spindle so the z06 brakes bolted right up. So far all i have done is just drive it around town and threw it through some corners and it handles and feels real good but its hard for me to say since i haven't driven a car with one of the aftermarket sub frames. The only reason I went with the global west control arms was a buddy went to wide of wheel and had to get some arms that were narrower so i got them at a really good price but they are a really nice piece.

214Chevy 09-15-2016 05:40 PM

The color looks beautiful on this car. I love it...you did well!

67XR7 09-16-2016 08:42 AM

Love the car!

Been following you on IG. Glad to see more and more local G-machines.

Radlark 09-16-2016 09:37 AM

Maybe I missed it but what color is that? That car is very well executed!

WOW. The engine looks awesome! Excellent choice for the color. Def. different. Is the Z06 front calipers 6 piston? What about the rears? The CPP C5 spindles look promising. WHat master cylinder did you have to use for the Zo6 brakes?

again...... WOW. LOL Thanks for sharing

SS Performance 02-10-2017 07:56 PM

Nice build.

Who's pulley/accessory drive setup is the?

Thanks
Craig
