You obviously haven't seen his Black Book of shops.

I talked to Weld and he helped me cross off a couple names. :hitaxeonthehead:

I'm sensing yer not 'preciatin my re-gifting of these very special moments that have gone round the world, and now have landed back here...in particular the first one.

Sadly, these are all I have...

2667lbs is impressive with a full cage!

That motor sounds nasty! Easily has high 1:30's in it at Laguna Seca. That track is pretty easy to learn once you get the hang of it.

Thanks! Yeah I am absolutely lovin this car. Has so much potential in it as it sits. Driver needs to catch up to it now.

After running LS I do think I could get into the high 1:30's with some more time there. Not having to lift for the sound meter was a nice bonus!

Better shoot for mid 1:40's ----- NASA club records show a 1:34 in a '99 Corvette and that record hasn't been broken in FIVE YEARS....

LOL

Mid 1:40's will put you in RECORD territory at Laguna Seca in the TT (Time Trials division). That's some of the best amatuer drivers on the west coast. Just sayin'

LOL.... we must talking about different tracks... Mid 1:40's is NOT a fast time at Laguna Seca..... know how I know? Because I just ran that time first time there

There were so many cars in the 1:30's when I was out there I lost count.... apparently there are some fast drivers/cars that don't run NASA! Go figure!

Gnx7 knows what he is talking about .. just sayin

Mark I am guessing you ran your Monster RX7 there?

michics 12-20-2017 05:40 PM

Great parts list. Cortex and Griggs suspension. Stoptech front brakes. Top notch roll cage. Maier wide body and front end pieces. Custom splitter and G Stream wing. And to top it off a Turnkey Engines LS3. I don't think I would buy a Fox without a GM engine in it.

So Dave, do you know whose cradle or K member is in your car to install the LS motor ?

Thanks

I believe (was told) it's the Griggs K member. No reason to think it's not from what I've seen. I am still getting to know these Mustangs. Hope to add the SLA to it at some point.

From now on if anybody asks about the car, just say it’s black.
Spring rates? Yup, black
Front K? It’s black
Control arms? Black

Or you can answer a question with a question, for instance...
Wouldn’t you like to know?
Or
What’s it to ya?

Another idea borrowed from ol Smokey himself “it’s pretty much stock”

:D

It's a smart call... but one I am unlikely able to adhere to. :action-smiley-027:

What kind of oiling system is on the car to protect the motor ? I continue to read about the oiling issues with the LS3 on the road course.

Yes, there is an epic thread on Corvette Forum about every LS3 ever driven on a road course has or will blow up.

A dry sump is the best method of course but pretty expensive.

Mine system is made up of an Accusump, Kevko road race oil pan, and remote oil filter. Has been fine so far. At least when I remember to open the valve before each session. :sieg:

DBasher 01-05-2018 11:35 AM

It’s black....

And about that rearend ratio...did you get the same outcome spinning backward as you did forward? Ive heard it can be different :sieg:

Vegas69 01-05-2018 02:47 PM

Drivers way to slow to worry about oiling issues.

You're welcome. Never too late to master 4th grade buddy.

Vegas69 01-06-2018 08:43 AM

I barely remember going to school, let alone 4th grade english.

I was going to give you hell about how that 4th grade grammar is helping you complete a project, but I just don't have the heart. ha

rustomatic 03-11-2018 07:59 PM

I didn't even realize this thread had turned into a grammar discussion. You do not want my perspective on this topic.

What's the prognosis on the clutch? The pedal clearly stopped playing an active role in the game . . .

If it makes you feel better, my truck's water pump gave up yesterday (no towing was involved). It'll cost me nearly $60.00 to fix. Dang it.

DBasher 03-12-2018 10:22 AM

Was the clutch pedal to the floor with zero resistance or was pressure noticeable and just won’t engage a gear?

Hopefully it’s an easy cylinder swap or TOB....if not, it may be time to swap the SB2 and dog box. :bigun2:
:thumbsup::flag2:
