Sh$! Jeff, that sucks ... I just dont understand how people like that operate
Don't worry, and thanks for the heads up Cheers' guys Steve |
I should have figured a custom crest would be involved. What a great idea. I'll have to keep an eye out for that type of details in cars I come across.
I did learn recently that the bottom point of the crest should always point towards the valve stem on these cars. |
Wow, just wow.
Haven't been here in a while, talked to Marty the other nite and he told me about a couple of must see threads and this one is just wowzers!! So nice, I don't see very many builds like this over on Renns. I've been on the hunt for an air-cooled hot rod project as well, something along these lines. F this is nice..... I have a 997.2S that is a 74 Carrera throw back wit the ducky, fake Fuchs and the decal and the like. I drive the sh!t outa that car as well as the Camaro. Cheers, Mike |
VERY big thank you Mike, stay tuned we should have paint this week and then we should be rocking'

Possibly get an inexpensive Chinese one ( they come in a bunch of different color insets - I have one for my 944s2 that I haven't installed yet, but the quality wasn't bad for $22) and then modify it https://i.postimg.cc/FFy7fnCC/156069...42262231-n.jpg |
Well guys ... received these pics this morning from Nathan and honestly I am absolutely blown away by the colour and the finish

On a side note I hade my local vinyl guy make a cost crest for my Cayman R. Let’s just say we had a little fun. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...ec6f1f11f0.jpg It’s also good fat bike hauler. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8adfb8186a.jpg I also love Blue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk it |
Marty ... curious why the Fatbike all the time ??
Btw .... nice touch with the wheel decals Cheers Steve |
Another badge company to throw into the ring:
https://www.billetbadges.com/ https://www.instagram.com/billetbadges/ I have no affiliation; have only seen some of their work on Instagram. That blue is amazing! Can't wait to see the progress. |
That blue is gorgeous!
And with that color, you can go gold, silver bright, satin, OR black on the wheels.... |
Thanks Mike !!
Car panels starting to be assembled, checking for paint consistency on all the panels. If all is well will be cut with 1000 and let sit while all the suspension components get installed. With any luck will will see some gold wheels on the car by the end of this week. And ... happy Memorial Day to all you fine folks in the USA !! Hi Steve, I guess it kinda just happened. When my buddy started riding the first fat bike from Surley or Salsa I thought they were silly but they worked great for him as he was a big guy. Then in the Winter of 13 I bought a Trek Farley fat bike and well I fell in love with the bike. I even built a 3" wide set of wheels for the bike. Since I ride for fun and I don't try to be the fastest they work great for me. I just like coming back from a ride with a big ass grin on my face. Eight years later I still have that grin and it's funny that all of sudden I am faster then I used to be on a skinny tire bike. Here is my fat road bike. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...3cae3c1-me.jpg Quote:
So do you think you will have the car complete for Luft 7 as this car would be very well received at the show. https://luftgekuhlt.com/luft-7 http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...2316672-me.jpg |
Thanks Marcs !! ... Loving the convertible
Ha !! Marty, seriously ... a 'fat road bike' .. that thing is awesome !! Love the green Cant figure out if thats a bike shop or your place LMAO Thanks buddy, its nice when a vision starts to come together and and you realize you got it right. Cant wait for this to get some of the silver trim and the side stripe package that will tie it altogether That show isn't too far from me, I just might make that ! Cheers Steve |

Here is the finished bike with the "Joker Theme" and I think I have put about 800 miles on it since i finished it. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...63022ae-me.jpg And I am hoping that you bring you car to the Indy Show as I so want to see it in person. My plan is to drive my Cayman to the show with Mike as it gets the best gas mileage out of all of my cars. Who new a 400hp Cayman would get 28 mpg on the highway. |
LMAO ... love it Marty !!
We will see, I talked to the builder this morning and looks like we are still targeting August for the completion date. So we will see if the car meet is in the cards for September Would love to finally meet you and some of the members here ... Its been many years now on Lateral-G Cheers Steve |
Steve, need to get one of these and paint it to match your car!

Unfortunately Steve,
I think he's right you need one of these bikes and maybe you need one of these Car Bones Roof Racks https://car-bone.pl/ https://car-bone.pl/wp-content/uploa...-1-580x387.jpg https://car-bone.pl/wp-content/uploa...czyqnjshpc.jpg https://car-bone.pl/wp-content/uploa...ck-turbo-2.jpg Quote:

This is the way to go Marty ... no way I could do the roof rack in this build :headscratch:

Very cool. I love seeing cars come together. Thanks for sharing, Steve.
|
Will there be some kind of cover for that exposed tubing?
Jeff- |
Those are Brass Oil Lines ( had them on my 914-6GT) there is a Rocker Cover that protects them
|
I am sure he has a plan ... but they are so COOL and match the wheels perfectly !! LOL
Steve |
This build is like a fine wine...just keeps getting better and better.
