what a bunch of nice down to earth, humble and talented individuals.

Troy and I visited for about 30 minutes while he was signing posters and getting pictures taken with fans, talked quite a bit about "Notorious" and he seemed really jazzed about the outcome of this ride,me too by the way!
Thats really the great part about them. No ego whatsoever. So many people think their stuff is so great and they get cocky even though most of the time it sucks anyway. With the shop they know how good they are and they let the rides speak for themselves.

Glad you are excited about Notorious. We most certainly are and a lot of people are starting to hear more about it. A lot of nova fans where asking whats going on with it at SEMA. Did anyone see any good 70's novas at the show?? I saw the yellow one outside and that was it.

Dude, 69 is intitled to his own opinion. I know everyone thinks Troy is God but come on. There is nothing wrong with a little constructive criticism.

Ok, enough with the "disturbance" of this thread. I'll start a new one. ;)

New picts...on the ground

The car is on the ground and looking great. The rims are simply mock ups but used to get the correct tire clearance/backspacing and look. Not too much left on the nova except for some dash finishing touches, exhaust work and finally the engine compartment. Now some pictures! Have a great thanksgiving!

RECOVERY ROOM 11-22-2007 05:22 PM

I will be checking it out next week.Going out to Rad Rides for a few days.

4cefed 11-22-2007 06:18 PM

How do they get that look on the sheetmetal? No sanding/grinding marks. It looks almost like a car that just got acid dipped.

The Rad Rides crew has an interesting philosophy on projects in-progress.. they'll never leave something "unfinished" looking, even during the build. It makes sense, as the owner, or a magazine photographer may stop in at any time, and they always want the stuff to look cool. So all through the builds they sand metal with a fine grit DA so that it looks that way. You won't see rusty parts, or stuff with rattlecan paint on them, 1/2 primed, etc.

awr68 11-23-2007 09:05 AM

Really cool car you got going!! Troy and crew does great work! Love all the pics, keep them coming!!

Makes sense. I like that. I may steal it. Wait, yep. Stolen. Thanks troy!

kennyd 11-26-2007 07:00 AM

i love this build , out of the box thinking .but troy and thrash are the best .
the hood is wicked .
great job .

wiedemab 11-26-2007 10:48 AM

That looks BAD!

I'll second Kenny's comment on the hood - I love the way it carries through to the dash!

This will be another one that will be hard to find all of the little details when it's finished.

NOVA 11-26-2007 06:44 PM

Looking Awesome:thumbsup:
You guys must be getting excited about Paint schemes now? 3 piece wheels? are the mock ups 18 & 19's?

Yes, it is awesome being part of something like this. You really get to appreciate the level of fabrication in these vehicles. Even though its been awesome so far...it will be great to move on to something new being the paint work.

Still waiting on wheel and paint ideas but 18s all around. Also something worth noting is that the rear tires are pretty rare from BFG and theres less then 7 in existance. Better not burn em up too fast!

heres a pict for everyone, sent to my phone from adam at the shop

Tim Baillie 11-26-2007 10:10 PM

I thought Troys deal was he would never modify a hood to fit engine components ?

notorious1970 11-27-2007 02:30 PM

im so hoood

Quote:

Actually he didn't. The motor was lowered, intake chopped down, oil pan shortened. All of the usual items were done to make sure the stock hood closes without modification to the hood. If you took the slight rise in the hood away, it would still close. They wanted to do something thats never been done to a nova hood before.

The project sure looks good. Who's doing the work on the car? Does anyone know if Marty's truck has been painted? Lost touch since I left, been catching up thru RR's website.
Take care guys, D-- -------

I actually dont have any pictures of the belly pan. Rad rides website has some on there under the projects page.

Marty did you get any to post on here???
Quote:

Not really sure what they are going to do. They had 2 sets of rear rim mock ups made. One for each side of the car. The passenger side rear is one spacing (which looks the best of the 2) and the driver side is another.

70TWO NOVA-- Nice looking car man. Did you do the work yourself? I did see the issue of your car over the summer. Pretty sweet to have it in a magazine.
