The only thing that I can figure is Jake was building a car for Mulvey, he built Mulvey's car 110 inches because he was going to run Maxton Mile and someother high speed events. He must have forgotten and did not change the jig. That is not an excuse for him, he is still a dumb ass. How do you build a full frame car and not check wheel base? I am guessing he knew what he did and decided to send the car on to me instead of correcting.

Very nice, those guys are metal masters.

Well he did screw it up but I think you should roll with it. A longer wheel base isnt gonna kill you. Turn it into an advantage. just my 2 sense. yep, that was a pun.
Switch that labor to fix the frame and put it into custom front sheet metal work.

Interesting A pillar cage bar location so far inward. :headscratch:

How are you supposed to fix this? Not much meat left after you move the flare forward enough to compensate for the problem. Payton said it would look funny (or maybe it was an expletive) and I agree.

Add to the rear of the fender to move the wheel opening forward or better yet, increase its size by 1/2-3/4".

Remove the tulips extend the cowl and mount the masters under the dash.

With the extra room you can now move the engine back farther and you could 1 piece the hood and 1/2 cowl vent cover.

Now you have room for under hood heat extraction, oil tanks, multiple coolers and electronics.

Payton King 06-12-2014 11:41 AM

Yea, I have thought about all of that stuff...going to move the clip back and keep the wheel base where it should be. Fender are going to be custom regardless of the wheel base.

Going cut out cage from main hoop forward and put it where it should be, not in my line of sight. Down bars are out too far and come in contact with front tires and the kicker bar keeps me from mounting my pedal box. Funny as I sent my pedal box to him before he started the frame, much less the cage, for him to mount.

that sucks but you'll get it right. That's the problem being so far away from your project.

Payton King 06-12-2014 12:04 PM

I wish that was all of the problems, still more to come I have not posted about.

You are right, project was too far away. Now it is about 15 minutes from my house.

I am truly sorry to hear this Payton. I hope Jake steps up and helps cover the repair cost. That was Amateur hour!

That just plain sucks, I hope it all works out Payton.
