We dont really know a whole lot about it from a technical standpoint. We do know that it was one of two engines originally designed for offshore powerboat application. Essentially 2 LS motors joined together with custom block. It has been 'de-tuned' from the 2000hp range to a more mild 1000-ish Hp. I suppose if you are building something like a Bugatti, one V8 may be adequate but 2 V8's are better! |
Some more updates of the other projects we have going on (that we can show you :_paranoid)
Back on the '63 Cadillac and work continues on the 'deco' style Firewall. The owner is debating whether or not he wants the ribs chromed or painted with the firewall so we figured it might be a good option to machine them from brass as separate pieces. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8370/8...08ece853_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8234/8...a8762593_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8112/8...14178a1c_b.jpg Attention also turns to sorting out the structure of the front, grille and sheetmetal and improving what was there (i.e. a mess) Before: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8098/8...c3b30064_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8366/8...5e0f66ec_b.jpg Welded washers must be a 'kustom' thing...:lostmarbles: The fix: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8523/8...1bda959f_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8373/8...9353331e_b.jpg We will also be working our way through the the sheetmetal, improving where possible (see left fender) http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8239/8...5c38aafb_b.jpg |
The tracknose '33 is moving along with the updates.
We made the lower frame, sides and center mount for the rearview mirror: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8505/8...d6e3379c_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8517/8...e2834bda_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8108/8...f120664a_b.jpg Owner decided on the final glass shape (left) http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8090/8...851ae9e3_b.jpg To the paint shop and currently in final assembly: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8229/8...52d59170_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8236/8...86bb9bcf_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8088/8...a7f9f544_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8366/8...a8396080_b.jpg |
