They say fondness grows with age, and as time marches on we tend reminisce and remember more of the good, while our memories of the bad dull over time. I can't wait to hear the legend of Payback two years from now.

I should have never admitted that I thought it was a really well built car...

Brutal.

Rob -- why are you not starting the dyno duns lower than 4500? After all I thought this was a torquey street motor. :_paranoid I wanna know what it does at 3000 or 3500.

D

What would I swap it out with a new Tunnelport manifold out of the Summit catalogue? I'm stoked on the power output and more importantly the big flat delivery curve.

Intake side isn't the problem. The exhaust ports on these motors suck by todays standards. A lot has been learned in 40+ years. We left a lot of hp on the table by not filling and reshaping the exhaust side. Blair came up with a cam and some other tricks to crutch the exhaust side.

Now that we've run this combo he's pretty sure there is some easy hp to be had with a different cam profile. For now I'm good with what it is putting out.

Jay will send me the dyno files and I'll post them up. We did some initial runs from 3-5k with each combo so we know what she does down there. Don't worry even at those rpms I have more torque than 200tw tires can handle.

So.... now let's talk money. :unibrow: What was the cost of the Ford Hp per dollar.

I'm just kidding you of course.... mature adults NEVER talk money! We just talk about "what we want"! You got what you wanted! :woot:

 Thanks GW.

Funny how everyone will spend endless amounts of $$ trying to make their car "unique" in every way but the motor. Tried and true speedway floater isn't bling enough or I need some HREs not Forglines. But under the hood cookie cutter is always good enough.

I like 60s cars. I don't want it to ride or stop like one but that RS chassis is pretty well hidden so it will do it's job somewhat unnoticed. I want mine to look like a 60s car and still have the soul of hp past. Nothing wrong with building a car just because of the body lines if that is what you want it just isn't my goal. I started my build based on the motor and the car. That's jsut what I like.

Looks good man. And I thought mine was a boat anchor. No wonder that Torino is so damn big.

This mission statement is why I really appreciate this build. Preservation of the muscle car era with the performance enhancement of today's engineering. Very impressive dyno chart, combined with the chassis this car is going to a real sleeper.
