Thank you.

When I took the car apart (both times) I bag / blue tape the parts and take pictures so when I start putting the car back together I can go back and look at my pictures on the day I took the car apart. It helps jog my memory as it pretty much sucks since Chemo back in 2012.

Vintage Air Firewall Fitting (03-13-21)

I missed this one so I am going back to it.

Here is the ground stud that I will be using on the passenger side of the car. It goes directly to the battery and it will be also be a brass bolt.

Firewall fitting test fitted it one last time before I permatex it to the firewall.

Thank you Don,

I’m having fun and learning a bunch along the way. It’s awesome having a great group of friends that share their knowledge which has allowed me to be able to do what I’m doing.

Yesterday I was at friends high end Porsche / Supercar race shop and unfortunately it gave me a few more ideas. (Not Good)

I am going to incorporate the door handles into my interior.

Thank you and I am been trying to get out to the car every chance I can even if it's only for an hour. I think it Mr Steilow that said an hour here or there is still progress.

On a side note make sure you do the top hinge first. I learned that the hard way when I went over to the drivers side. What I should have done was replace the bushing on the top and check the door alignment and I needed to re-adjust this is when you do it. I did the bottom first on the drivers side and well it went south really fast or closer to the earth. So far south I couldn't even shut the door. I eventually walked away and called Larry (Body Guy) and he laughed at me and said well son you screwed up. Replace the top, gently try to close the door and if doesn't line up lift up or lower the door and try to get it the top hinge set. Then you do the bottom hinge and it will be much easier.

Lesson Learned !!!!

Mindless projects are sometimes needed (04-18-21)

I wanted and needed something mindless so I decided I would silicone the defrost vents to the underside of the dash. Hopefully I won't regret this.

I think my note told me to do it.

It must have also told me to take this picture.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...7b396da-me.jpg

Back in February my best animal friend Shadow passed away unexpectedly. It was awful and heartbreaking. Shadow was born on the day I started chemo so we had a very special bond. I always felt that we were going to live out the rest of our lives together. Unfortunately, God had a different plans for us. I am sorry to say there will be no new pictures of Shadow (crying while I type this) just old ones.

Adjusting to life without a dog was just not going to good and my wife forced me to look at puppy's. I was so hard as Shadow used to go everywhere with me including work. He even went with me to my customers. Everyone loved him. A couple months later my wife found another Yorkie-Pom breeder near Indy and she put a deposit on one of the two males. We finally picked him up mid April and it has been very nice having him in the house. However, the last 6 months with him has reminded me why you have kids when your young as a puppy's doesn't sleep when you sleep and how can something 2.5lbs poop so much.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...be6f297-me.jpg

I started searching for the bracket that hangs the vintage air unit and I can't seem to find it. I called my Powder Coater to see if he
remembers powder coating the bracket and he laughed as he powders so much stuff that there is now way he could remember.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...a2ce7f3-me.jpg

After 90 minutes of searching I finally found the bracket as it was right where I put it last. (insert sarcasm here).

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...375cb8b-me.jpg

Installed it and mounted the ECU bracket which I made a long time ago.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...4146269-me.jpg

I mounted the ECU and started plugging everything in so I could start routing the wires for the digital dash.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...31ba1a6-me.jpg

As much as I love the Autometer dash that was in the car I really really wanted the Holley digital dash. So I pulled trigger and bought the dash.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...4f07f94-me.jpg

He's getting bigger well not really.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...01d4c03-me.jpg

More notes.

Apparently the trans ''Trigger" can't be connected to the same trigger as the ECU.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...73e4252-me.jpg

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...b0e7094-me.jpg

Test fitting everything and so far it looks like everything is going to fit as planned.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...4165306-me.jpg

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...1979b1f-me.jpg

I also made a perm-a-note that the nuts on the small weld studs are 11/32 of an inch.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...257de2b-me.jpg

Since I use these so much in the car I put tape on them so I can find them quickly in my toolbox.

Calling it a night.

Mounted the Fan & Fan Shroud ( 05-02-21 )

My goal was to work on the fan relay and well at least installed the radiator, shroud and fan. At some point I need to bring the radiator and the shroud over to Mario to have him paint it.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...dad5311-me.jpg

As some of you know I try to be organized and sometimes thing get out of control. So i stopped what I was doing and spent the next couple hours organizing everything.

Fan Relay 05-15-21

I removed the old wiring for the fan and installed a painless relay set up. Eventually this will come out and I will install the PWM setup.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...4a62d64-me.jpg

I need to figure out the location for the relay.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...d91c3fe-me.jpg

This looks like the perfect location.

I really really thought the car would make it out this year (05-17-21)

So my plan was to have the car completed for the Hot Rod Power Tour.
However, that didn't happen but the good news is I did buy the tires and plan to have them mounted soon.

Jumping back on the brakes or should I say "Circling Back".
I needed to stop this bracket from twisting when I turn the wheel

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...6593733-me.jpg

Step One - Dill second hole in the bracket.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...f2832a8-me.jpg

Step Two - Tap said hole.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...49fc8e7-me.jpg

Step Three - Drill second hole in frame.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...b4d6590-me.jpg

Step Four - Mount bracket using the ARP bolt and then thread in the smaller bolt so it acts like a stud in the bracket. That way if the small bolt
breaks all I have to do is replace it. I also don't have to worry about breaking a small tap in the frame as I have done that some many times in
the past that I no longer trust myself.

Step Five - Rinse and Repeat on the Drivers Side

Adding a Weather-Pack to the Fan (05-23-21)

Upgrading the wire connectors to a weather-pack connector.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...f3efe44-me.jpg

I started using a X-Acto hot knife to cut the Tech-Flex wire sleeve. It works good and if you accidently cut yourself it also singes
your skin so you don't have to worry about bleeding or needing a band-aid.

That will definitely work. I've fallen in love with nutserts (rivet nuts) in cases like that, easy to install and work great for mounting brackets/etc. to frames, firewalls, fenderwells, sheet metal...

That's a great idea and what really sucks is I have the tool.

Da !!!!

I've followed along at times and used some of your wiring techniques which has helped me, thanks for that. For my fan relays I decided to put them into a enclosure to protect from the elements just in case. One like this that fits both.
https://secure.sayal.com/STORE2/View_SHOP.php?SKU=14898

Then decided to grab this one of which I'll alter to fit down the road.
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07...0?ie=UTF8&th=1

Also fabbed up a panel into the front fender area so that I wouldn't clutter up the battery area with a bunch of wires. Also used 2 battery terminal blocks as extended power points. Rivnut tool came in handy here!

Hi Simon,

Thank you Thank you

Looking back I should have used the waterproof relay, which means I will most likely order the waterproof relay kit and redo this next week unless Amazon can get it to me tomorrow.
