Yea he is replacing the Linoleum in the kitchen with Travertine and trying to decide between antique bronze or stainless fixtures.

GregWeld 07-25-2012 09:25 AM

His new subframe is named Susie

She's very cute -- spunky actually -- not sure how she drives.

:_paranoid Oh man...

Since I really don't know you guys, I am just going to pass on that one...

Damn you guys are brutal....

My Wife is running rich and I am trying to lean her out a bit...

fleet 07-25-2012 12:09 PM

Mark Stielow is building a '67.

Dub Renner drives a '69.

So I don't see the big need to find out what ISN'T going on with this one.

It's only a '68.

Flash68 07-25-2012 02:16 PM

How's the car going? Great! I just trimmed the hedges, power washed the deck and side patio and some fencing, and assembled some new furniture.

Actually, Rich did just pick up the subframe and torq arm on Sunday in Monterey.... I am anxious to see it and mock it up. :lateral:

intocarss 07-25-2012 05:30 PM

About time you brought this back to page 1

What kind of hedger do you have, does it run on C-12

I'm leaving Gregs comment alone....................for now

Version 2.2 commences

Slight change of plans and here comes Badmotorfinger V2.2 (hat tip to Chad Ryker for getting me to liking that moniker as he did V3.0 on his latest version).

Current motor in progress is scrapped (and for sale) and its place will go this thing:

http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/f...8/photo9-2.jpg

The key numbers are:

430 cubes
736 hp @ 6800 rpm
609 ft lbs @ 6000 rpm
92 octane
10.8:1 compression
185 lbs spring pressure for durability

The heart of this and why I had to have it was the 2006 era Joe Gibbs Racing SB2.2 heads.

This is the exact motor that got me interested in the SB2 stuff back 7-8 months ago when it was first listed.... sale fell through and it was relisted recently so I snatched it up. Most of the parts are upgrades over what I was putting in my 386 anyway. Will have it shipped to Watson Racing and have them check it over and dyno it here on 91 octane. Can't wait.

Guess it's time to start working on getting the chassis under this car.

Anyone need some good SBC short block and top end parts? :unibrow:

Vince@Meanstreets 08-02-2012 10:13 PM

first you need to clean your room man. Jeeze. :P

Thats all fine and dandy but what trans are you running again?

Wait....don't sell it, I can get you a great deal on a Caravan Town and Country and you can use our old changing table.

waynieZ 08-02-2012 10:13 PM

Wow nice motor!

FETorino 08-02-2012 10:16 PM

Sweet

Better get a 6" cowl hood.

You need to post all the specs and a recap of your current build plan.

Jakes sub
Jakes arm
AP Brakes
T101
Clutch
Floater

I've lost track of what this build actually is :willy: :willy:

89 RS 08-02-2012 10:18 PM

Sweet...Can't wait to hear about this motor once everything is back together and you're out hammering down. :unibrow:

Spiffav8 08-02-2012 10:25 PM

That should be plenty of smash to get you down the road and around the track!

Track Junky 08-02-2012 10:32 PM

Very good. Someone paid attention. I will get on it soon when I actually get all the rest of the details... waiting for fax from engine builder... I got enough so far to be comfortable... and dangerous.

Congrats Dave! Something pertaining to your car has finally surfaced in your thread.

That new engine is badass. Are you going uber race car and running the plate, or are you going to use motor mounts?

Matt

Yes, finally, I hear ya there. I almost started a brand new stinkin thread.

I told him to keep the plate and crank trigger ignition he had on there. I actually wanted this thing because it was built for the street, and since recently moving to the suburbs where nice roads, a garage, and a driveway exist, I really want to have a car I can drive occasionally on the street. So while it isn't a stock LS3, it is certainly drivable to me.

67zo6Camaro 08-03-2012 12:19 AM

Holly smokes, things are getting serious around here. I better start posting shiat about my new project.... or even some newer versions to my old one.

I predict a new trend forming. Pro-racing. The bar just keeps getting raised and things just keep getting juicer.:brix:

Can't wait to see this come together.

fleet 08-03-2012 12:37 AM

The new motor should take up temporary residence in one like this for some 'little kicks' on your wedding day. :unibrow:

EBMC 08-03-2012 06:01 AM

I hadn't checked in on this thread in a while, but it looks as though the snowball effect is in full force! Awesome! :D Congrats on all the good stuff happening!

Frankenstine 08-03-2012 06:24 AM

Nice

Sweet Race Engine, How many FPG( feet per gallon) you gonna get out of this thing??? just tricking, really nice engine, should be fast. cant wait for more updates.
