I've never heard of anyone that was happy with a mini-clutch on anything street driven. Something for the owner to think about if this is going to be a driven car. I've seen a lot of people start down that road thinking "I will live with it" and invariably about 6 months later I see them going back to a 10.5" clutch or turning it into a track car. It might work with some of the newer CF bad assery out there, after all some of the exotics get away with it but I'd definitely do some testing on a mule somewhere.

I may be out on a limb here but with all the slick pro-tour cars we've seen I almost wonder if a hint of pro-street bad assery might not work, although, given the direction of this particular car, probably not. Would look cool on something though.

Carbon triple discs work fine with big power on the street. The owner used to race sprint cars, So anything is better then a push start direct drive race car.

The customer wants the blower under the hood. And he is willing to do all way can to achieve that.

Thanks for the compliments guys. If Eric runs out of daughters to get married we might start back on the old 62 vert. Darrell is begin to pull ahead of Eric by a a ways in project Slow Motion.

Using a triple disk carbon/carbon clutch on the street is definitely possible and it should work quite well. A typical setup will run $5-6K

In order to get the required ground clearance, you would have to use a button style flywheel and a with a ring gear that is mounted on top of the clutch cover. Like this one from Quarter Master:

The main issue will be making a mount for the reverse mount starter. It may be possible to machine the Corvette torque tube bellhousing and weld on a mount that would accommodate the reverse mount starter. It's all doable...

Here is a reverse mount bellhousing that works with your basic circle track style transmission (g-force, rankin, Jerico, etc...)

You may even be able to take that bellhousing and cut out the starter mounting pocket and weld it to the Corvette torque tube bellhousing.

[QUOTE=ironworks;479222]Well I'm a little behind on updating this project but let me see what I can get handled this Morning.

We did our first months worth of work for the new owner, Troy. We are working to try and get the engine as low as possible with the Dailey Dry sump pan that is on it. We have a ton of clearance under the pan but the limiting factor is the bellhousing. So we have been exploring going to a relocated starter with a triple 7.25" clutch from Tilton or QuarterMaster.

Those Dailey pans are pretty slick aren't they.:unibrow:
