Water Neck and Intake Manifold Plumbing ( 10-31-21 )
I had time to do a couple simple projects so out to the garage I went.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...eca7330-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...29562b4-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...1cb3325-me.jpg I decided to mock up some of the hoses. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...ff64cb2-me.jpg Thankfully the auto parts store is close http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...0dd4d2d-me.jpg Nope, I don't like the way this hose looks. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...9e36dca-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...ba7b82e-me.jpg I ordered this custom hose with all kinds of crazy bends in it. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...44281a9-me.png http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...88d06fa-me.png |

Last one for the night Upgrading to a Waterproof Relay ( 10-31-22 )
Way back somewhere in this thread I installed Painless fan relay and I screwed up and didn't order a standard fan relay. So I ordered a new Water Proof Fan Relay kit.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...e422402-me.jpg Since it is in between the battery and the radiator the batter once again needs to come out. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...62a3498-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...716f201-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...eb77955-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...aa95809-me.jpg Thankfully I used a weather pack connector as I was able to just remove the ground from the plug. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...b4d4ab8-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...7cc5636-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...49927c9-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...f70b3d6-me.jpg |
Vacuum Hose Installed ( 11-09-21 )
My molded hose arrived
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...0328a55-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...3ab7079-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...12061c5-me.jpg I also received another fitting for the Fuel Pressure Sensor http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...6a76dfd-me.jpg Looks like I need a longer hose. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...35b907f-me.jpg Found an all in one fitting that will be replacing two of the fittings. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...54b1b80-me.jpg |
Optima Batter Charger Plug ( 11-09-21 )
Since I keep the car on the optima charger when it is parked in the garage I decided to mock up the wire and see if I could hide it when it's not in use.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...08e838a-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...75a09f7-me.jpg I can easily tuck it in the frame rail when not in use. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...36739ac-me.jpg |
Fuel Line Routing ( 11-14-21 )
Another reminder while I am here to powder coat the spring pocket and the lower arms.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...6ff019d-me.jpg The fuel lines runs right over the spring pocket and I am going to trim a little bit of it off to protect the fuel line. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...782bf8a-me.jpg I started slowly removing just a little bit. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...7968ff9-me.jpg Then I took just a little more off. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...0058286-me.jpg Out comes them death wheel. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...7e82dfe-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...db4172f-me.jpg A little clean up. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...2474b73-me.jpg All better now and I am still going to run the line through DEI ExoSleeve. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...ac03f3d-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...1811f19-me.jpg |
Kore3 FlexKORE Brake Line ( 11-14-21 )
I am finally installing the FlexKore brake lines.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...e2ec22f-me.jpg Old lines are coming out. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...3c5d55b-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...149ea7d-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...80c4ff1-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...896cd18-me.jpg |

That looks really good. As for the single fan set up. It was part of the Afco LS Radiator / Fan shroud set up that I purchased years ago for the first version of the car. I didn’t change it because it worked so well I’m just going to leave it. I’m still trying to decide if I am going to paint the radiator, shroud and AC condenser. I might leave that for version 3.0. What should have been a simple project ( 11-14-21 )
What should have been a simple pan swap turned out to be a no go.
Since the current pan on the new transmission from Atomic was a standard depth I ordered a stock depth pan as I didn't want the pan to hang down and lower then it was. Well this one didn't works so I guess at some point I will order another one. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...f9825b3-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...5de39d3-me.png http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...fa2fe41-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...b6ee237-me.jpg Just in case anyone needs to know what size the bolt is http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...abdc231-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...ab730aa-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...a648904-me.jpg |
Yes, I know this is overkill ( 11-14-21 )
I think I am going to rename this car to Project Overkill
Once again I am taking the passenger side header off so I can get to the wiring at the starter. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...600dd95-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...3caad2d-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...ec15a7d-me.jpg So I dropped the lock washer of course my floor is speckled gray so it blended right in. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...71be25a-me.jpg Eventually I laid on the ground with the flashlight so I could find the freaking thing. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...842f304-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...e812c0d-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...4eb29fb-me.jpg |
Wiring toolbox ( 11-14-21 )
So the other day I was looking at all of the tools I have collected for wiring this car and I thought I would share pictures of my tool box that is completed dedicated to wiring. So when the car is done it will be going back to my warehouse.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...087c1bc-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...2b3ed48-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...4107d19-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...9dea6ac-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...676d7d0-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...51a08b5-me.jpg |
Fuel Line Routing & DEI Heat Protection ( 11-20-21 )
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...05d136b-me.jpg
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...2f1bc09-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...800f4fc-me.jpg I need to widen this rectangular hole so the fuel line can pass through this opening safely. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...14429b1-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...3d6d02d-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...97b3dc0-me.jpg I installed the DEI Heat shield and EXO-Sleeve. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...162f1ae-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...ca5147b-me.jpg I am still trying to figure out if I am going to secure the line to the firewall or just let it hang from the fuel rail. Which doesn't sound good as I type this. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...f3131d9-me.jpg This is the final AN fitting that I need to finish the fuel line. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...560874b-me.jpg |
ARP Battery Bolts ( 11-25-21 )
I am not a fan of battery bolts and I really like ARP bolts. Since Rad Rides uses them on their builds I might as well use them on my car.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...7aa8ee7-me.jpg Apparently the bolt got a little warm. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...157fc59-me.jpg I ran the bolt all the way in to make sure it wasn't to long. Eventually I will order the correct bolt. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...6a658a1-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...524cf4e-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...3aa16b5-me.jpg |

I Know I Know this is so not necessary ( 11-27-21 )
So totally not necessary but I did it and it looks really nice as it made the lines disappear.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...14073d9-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...318ec43-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...7e680b8-me.jpg He's almost full grown. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...1441696-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...9c33fa2-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...9b676e4-me.jpg While I cleaning up the lines I noticed the passenger side line was really close to the trans coolant lines. So added a couple washers under the bracket to raise the line up. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...59bd137-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...65f1f66-me.jpg I finally received the black dipsticks from Lokar. So I figured I would install them while I was here. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...0199a89-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...701c49c-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...f7b3e62-me.jpg Trans Dipstick. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...5b480e8-me.jpg |
Looks great,it’s almost like a step-by-step instructions for my build.:thankyou:

So I think I am going to leave it ( 11-28-21 )
I have been going back and fourth on this for weeks if not months.
Do I have Mario paint the Radiator, Fan Shroud and A/C Condenser or leave it natural for this version of the car. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...8eb7fed-me.jpg Today I am going back and touch up all of the holes I drilled in things. No reason to let things start rusting. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...6cdf232-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...fc95942-me.jpg I am also removing the blue tape on the frame for the last time. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...a7f0f26-me.jpg So I learned this trick when I was still in High School. My buddy's father put grease on the core support body mount to stop the creaking that old cars made and still make. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...4d254f0-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...a7bef97-me.jpg It's hard to tell what I am doing here but this was the only way I could get the washer on the Core Support upright brackets. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...280d8de-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...9ada73b-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...a775a57-me.jpg It's hard to believe I used all of these tools to install three bolts http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...215b1a5-me.jpg |

I’m so torn and I know Mario is beyond busy. So I would hate to ask him to paint it. If you saw his shop and the amount of quality work he puts out, it’s just incredible.

AFV, Truck Wires & the other side ( 11-29-21
Good news I was able to get the MSD LS Truck Wires
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...39aabb8-me.jpg Yesterday 11-28-21 didn't end well as my dog ran into the slider, has a concussion and I had to stay up all night with him. The good thing is our Ring Camera caught it and we submitted it to America's Funniest Video and they accepted it. **** Post AFV airing I will add the video **** So back to the drivers side and I will just do pictures as you all know what it looks like. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...41dd780-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...2d02d4f-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...dde7f46-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...bdb985d-me.jpg I also noticed that core support was hitting the support bracket http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...890c2f6-me.jpg Fixed http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...aee816a-me.jpg |
Battery Terminal Options ( 12-01-21 )
I currently have the DSE terminal and I love how they look however is there something better is what my brain
keeps saying. So I jumped on some car audio websites and found some cool options. I really like these as they allow you to connect ring terminals. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...6ca4a6e-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...1cf7fc7-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...d363c31-me.jpg Option 1 http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...87b0a4e-me.jpg Option 2 http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...0c5c04c-me.jpg |
My Christmas Present to myself from my wife ( 12-01-21 )
So way back in February of 2021 I saw this 3D printed honeycomb grille on Taylor's 2nd Gen. I messaged him on Facebook and asked
him where and how do I get one. He told me he 3D printed it and he would be selling them. I was lucky enough to get in line to get one and the quality is excellent and I can not wait to install it on the car. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...5e61689-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...f1d520b-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...2a2e089-me.jpg Here is the grille that was shipped to me the first week of December. MSD Truck Wires & DEI Spark Plug Boots ( 12-05-21 )
It was late and I was tired and just got home from work with my MSD Plug Wires so I decided to put them on before I went in the house.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...af702d1-me.jpg As you can see the wires are no longer stretched. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...d5ac7bf-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...a46c630-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...57b1946-me.jpg Apparently Remy new I was home so my wife let him out so he could come visit me in the garage. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...7e7ca00-me.jpg Oil Pump Block off. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...38d87b2-me.jpg After looking at the wiring on the tank I decided it needed one more "Weld Stud" http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...de6df0f-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...3451d11-me.jpg Apparently all the planning I did when I installed the tank makes it very easy to service and remove. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...5defde4-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...4cb9ee7-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...73d81a8-me.jpg Nap time for Remy http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...7ec4884-me.jpg New Weld Stud installed and I will clean up all of the excess before the Tank goes to Remes Autobody for paint. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...5c56884-me.jpg |

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...13770e3-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...e41febf-me.jpg I finally made the time to finish off all of the wire terminations. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...458321b-me.jpg I'm making sure all of the wires are long enough and I will need to replace these ring terminals as they are not the correct size. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...a547e25-me.jpg I did find some covers for the DSE terminals. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...499b92f-me.jpg Since the Shifter will be going in soon I figured it was time to look for the harness and I had tucked it up neatly under the dash. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...b9f0272-me.jpg I really want the Radiator Cover from Anvil so I am adding this to my Christmas list and hoping my wife buys it for me. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...54ae0f5-me.jpg Not my car the picture is for reference. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...e0644eb-me.jpg |
I am blaming Ron for this ( 12-14-21 )
So, I have wanted these upper control arms since I started building the car. After talking with Keith at Custom Works Performance
for years I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a set. I also ordered a set of Tall Ball Joints and once I received them I ordered some ARP Hardware. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...470c201-me.jpg They sure are pretty and no more pivot shaft shims. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...f794320-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...b0dbc15-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...6f04f27-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...0796520-me.jpg Yes, I am replacing the hardware. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...55733a5-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...8993031-me.jpg I picked up some zinc coated grad 8 washers since one of the arms was missing the pivot shaft washers. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...b0071ac-me.jpg |

Finishing off the New New Fan Relay Wiring ( 12-18-21 )
Needed something quick and easy to finish when I went back out to the garage at 10pm. So I finished up the details on the relay wire tech flex wrap.
Since the wire is so small I am going to step the heat shrink so it looks like finished. The first layer of heat shrink (2 to 1 shrink ratio ) fits tightly before I hit it with the heat gun. This still needs to be trimmed to length which should roughly be 3/4 of an inch. Smaller if you want less to show and make sure you shrink this before moving on to the next step. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...95aad24-me.jpg I then installed the tech flex sleeve and then a slightly larger piece of heat shrink (3 to 1 shrink ration) that fits over the tech flex and lays on the recently installed heat shrink. When everything is lined up hit it with the heat gun. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...c9283b2-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...e4b38bd-me.jpg Another while I am here moment. ( 12-26-21 ) http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...6aed835-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...2b3f3a9-me.jpg I finally get to make the final "Hot" connections in the passenger side cowl panel. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...f975a79-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...157bf0f-me.jpg Don't every buy Animal Crackers as they are like CRACK !!!!! http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...5d18869-me.jpg Finishing up all of the passenger side grounds http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...982a644-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...a64d2d9-me.jpg Clean Up which means bed time or was it Taco time. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...68e3596-me.jpg |

Your OCD is as pleasing as always, And your workspace is as expectedly clean, makes me want to redo my garage again once I'm in final assembly. many beers could be had.

Back to the Battery Terminals ( 12-18-21 )

Finishing off 2021 by spending my Christmas cash on myself. ( 12-27-21 )
Since both my girls were home for the holidays I spent my free time with them instead of working on the car.
First project was to upgrade the hardware on the Customworks Performance SPC Control Arms. So I set up my makeshift desk and started measuring bolts. It was quite relaxing and I think I need to get a computer for my garage because trying to find the correct ARP bolt on Summit's website/app on my phone was a pain in the backside. If anyone wants or needs a part # list shoot me a message. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...9800ca3-me.jpg So these are the last two wires that I need to connect to the brake light switch. One is from the DBW and the other is from the transmission harness. I need to figure out which wire it needs to go to. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...2bdea2a-me.jpg This was the last thing I worked on. I added the red wire into the loom and wrapped it with matching Tech-Flex wire wrap. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...d4d5672-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...be0743a-me.jpg |
