Water Neck and Intake Manifold Plumbing ( 10-31-21 )

I had time to do a couple simple projects so out to the garage I went.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...29562b4-me.jpg

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...1cb3325-me.jpg

I decided to mock up some of the hoses.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...ff64cb2-me.jpg

Thankfully the auto parts store is close

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...0dd4d2d-me.jpg

Nope, I don't like the way this hose looks.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...9e36dca-me.jpg

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...ba7b82e-me.jpg

I ordered this custom hose with all kinds of crazy bends in it.

Last one for the night Upgrading to a Waterproof Relay ( 10-31-22 )

Way back somewhere in this thread I installed Painless fan relay and I screwed up and didn't order a standard fan relay. So I ordered a new Water Proof Fan Relay kit.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...e422402-me.jpg

Since it is in between the battery and the radiator the batter once again needs to come out.

Thankfully I used a weather pack connector as I was able to just remove the ground from the plug.

Vacuum Hose Installed ( 11-09-21 )

My molded hose arrived

I also received another fitting for the Fuel Pressure Sensor

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...6a76dfd-me.jpg

Looks like I need a longer hose.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...35b907f-me.jpg

Found an all in one fitting that will be replacing two of the fittings.

Optima Batter Charger Plug ( 11-09-21 )

Since I keep the car on the optima charger when it is parked in the garage I decided to mock up the wire and see if I could hide it when it's not in use.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...08e838a-me.jpg

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...75a09f7-me.jpg

I can easily tuck it in the frame rail when not in use.

My goal is to make then looks nice and I even have some company in the garage today.

black so it blends in with the Covan dash insert.

I have been looking for Intake Tube idea's and I think I found one that I love.

Fuel Line Routing ( 11-14-21 )

Another reminder while I am here to powder coat the spring pocket and the lower arms.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...6ff019d-me.jpg

The fuel lines runs right over the spring pocket and I am going to trim a little bit of it off to protect the fuel line.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...782bf8a-me.jpg

I started slowly removing just a little bit.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...7968ff9-me.jpg

Then I took just a little more off.

On another note just wondering what single fan you're using? Is it for less fan/rad depth, less air intake tube interference?
Keep up the great work!

That looks really good.

As for the single fan set up. It was part of the Afco LS Radiator / Fan shroud set up that I purchased years ago for the first version of the car. I didn’t change it because it worked so well I’m just going to leave it. I’m still trying to decide if I am going to paint the radiator, shroud and AC condenser. I might leave that for version 3.0.

What should have been a simple project ( 11-14-21 )

What should have been a simple pan swap turned out to be a no go.

Since the current pan on the new transmission from Atomic was a standard depth I ordered a stock depth pan
as I didn't want the pan to hang down and lower then it was. Well this one didn't works so I guess at some point
I will order another one.

I think I am going to rename this car to Project Overkill

This is the final AN fitting that I need to finish the fuel line.

ARP Battery Bolts ( 11-25-21 )

I am not a fan of battery bolts and I really like ARP bolts. Since Rad Rides uses them on their builds I might as well use them on my car.

So I think I am going to leave it ( 11-28-21 )

I have been going back and fourth on this for weeks if not months.

Do I have Mario paint the Radiator, Fan Shroud and A/C Condenser or leave it natural for this version of the car.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...8eb7fed-me.jpg

Today I am going back and touch up all of the holes I drilled in things. No reason to let things start rusting.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...6cdf232-me.jpg

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...fc95942-me.jpg

I am also removing the blue tape on the frame for the last time.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...a7f0f26-me.jpg

So I learned this trick when I was still in High School. My buddy's father put grease on the core support body mount to stop the creaking that old cars made and still make.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...4d254f0-me.jpg

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...a7bef97-me.jpg

I had mine painted eggshell black on Malitude and loved the look. Plan on doing the same with the current 70 Chevelle. Depends on the colors in the engine compartment; if everything is black already I might opt for leaving it aluminum.

I’m so torn and I know Mario is beyond busy. So I would hate to ask him to paint it. If you saw his shop and the amount of quality work he puts out, it’s just incredible.

AFV, Truck Wires & the other side ( 11-29-21

Good news I was able to get the MSD LS Truck Wires

Yesterday 11-28-21 didn't end well as my dog ran into the slider, has a concussion and I had to stay up all night with him. The
good thing is our Ring Camera caught it and we submitted it to America's Funniest Video and they accepted it.

Yes, I am going print this picture so I don't have to try to remember the sock direction in the tank.

Measure Twice Cut Once ( 12-09-21 )

Yep, I screwed up and cut the hose to short

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...9525aa3-me.jpg

I installed the DEI Fire Sleeve on the fuel line and I doubt I will be cutting the fuel line as I already screwed up once today.

I finally made the time to finish off all of the wire terminations.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...458321b-me.jpg

I'm making sure all of the wires are long enough and I will need to replace these ring terminals as they are not the correct size.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...a547e25-me.jpg

I did find some covers for the DSE terminals.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...499b92f-me.jpg

Since the Shifter will be going in soon I figured it was time to look for the harness and I had tucked it up neatly under the dash.

I really want the Radiator Cover from Anvil so I am adding this to my Christmas list and hoping my wife buys it for me.

I am blaming Ron for this ( 12-14-21 )

So, I have wanted these upper control arms since I started building the car. After talking with Keith at Custom Works Performance
for years I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a set. I also ordered a set of Tall Ball Joints and once I received them I ordered some
ARP Hardware.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...470c201-me.jpg

They sure are pretty and no more pivot shaft shims.

I picked up some zinc coated grad 8 washers since one of the arms was missing the pivot shaft washers.

Back to the Battery Terminals ( 12-18-21 )

Yes, I am still going back and fourth on this battery terminal mental block. I have even ordered another one that I hope to play with next week.

Finishing off the New New Fan Relay Wiring ( 12-18-21 )

Needed something quick and easy to finish when I went back out to the garage at 10pm. So I finished up the details on the relay wire tech flex wrap.

Since the wire is so small I am going to step the heat shrink so it looks like finished. The first layer of heat shrink (2 to 1 shrink ratio ) fits tightly before I hit it with the heat gun. This still needs to be trimmed to length which should roughly be 3/4 of an inch. Smaller if you want less to show and make sure you shrink this before moving on to the next step.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...95aad24-me.jpg

I then installed the tech flex sleeve and then a slightly larger piece of heat shrink (3 to 1 shrink ration) that fits over the tech flex and lays on the recently installed heat shrink. When everything is lined up hit it with the heat gun.

Your OCD is as pleasing as always, And your workspace is as expectedly clean, makes me want to redo my garage again once I'm in final assembly. many beers could be had.

Finishing off 2021 by spending my Christmas cash on myself. ( 12-27-21 )

Since both my girls were home for the holidays I spent my free time with them instead of working on the car.

First project was to upgrade the hardware on the Customworks Performance SPC Control Arms. So I set up my makeshift desk and started
measuring bolts. It was quite relaxing and I think I need to get a computer for my garage because trying to find the correct ARP bolt on Summit's
website/app on my phone was a pain in the backside.

If anyone wants or needs a part # list shoot me a message.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...9800ca3-me.jpg

So these are the last two wires that I need to connect to the brake light switch. One is from the DBW and the other is from
the transmission harness. I need to figure out which wire it needs to go to.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...2bdea2a-me.jpg

This was the last thing I worked on. I added the red wire into the loom and wrapped it with matching Tech-Flex wire wrap.

Thank you and if you are ever in the Chicagoland area hit me up as I love having company in my garage. On a side note I think I have redone my garage at least 4 times and this one has lasted the longest.
