Nice Rodger looking really good! Is it still going to get the built in air jacks that Dave wanted to put in?

How thick is the intercooler core? Could you use a thinner core or will that negate the effect of having a core because a thinner core wouldn't be able to keep up with the heat and airflow you are going to be making. You could also run no intercooler and just run a boost referenced water alcohol mist before the blower. If you think it will be more street than full on boost that might be a idea. When cruising with the bypass open those don't make much heat at all.

I'm not sure where we will end up with intercooler thickness. I have been talking to some much smarter guys then me at Whipple and Kurt Urban had some good ideas also. The customer is open to machining the intake from Billet to get the best results with our application. One step at a time.

Well I guess it's about time for an Update on the widebody Camaro project.
Things have come long pretty good in the engine compartment. We are working to get the front suspension crossmember designed and getting the Alternator and AC compress in a low key position. We mocked up a rough seat in the car and are working to get the steering column position set up. We all closed up the panel below the rear window where the car was shortened for less over hang. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...28-2013005.jpg We are just mocking up some hinges to see how they will work in a rear ward position nearly 6 inches back from stock with the new firewall position. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...28-2013006.jpg This steering column position will be critical for comfort behind the wheel and header clearance and having the column high enough at the firewall to give plenty of room for the movement of the pedal assembly. You can also see the bellhousing mounted starter in position on the passenger side. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...28-2013008.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...28-2013009.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...28-2013010.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...28-2013011.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...28-2013012.jpg Enjoy the progress |
WOW, there are a few killer 1st Gen Camaro's being built right now throughout the country and I think this one is going to be a stand out among them!
