:thankyou: I am relieved to have this welded in, I was a little hesitant when it came to welding .... you know, measure a thousand times and weld once!
I was very disappointed with the quality of the side cowls, however AMD parts were a bit closer than the other place ... maybe I am paranoid :_paranoid .

That looks really good. Keep after it.

Going topless

the car that is , now that the cowl is structurally sound it's' time to get that roof off and see what needs attention.

So... off came the roof, the front header had the most rust (POR15 TIME) and the rest is looking like it will make it fine with some epoxy primer. I was worried about the area under the pinch weld for the drip rail and it looks like I can save it:thumbsup: . Couple hours and the DeWalt and she's looking mo better.

Cleaned up pretty good :D

I still have to get that drip rail part of the roof off ... that will take some delicate grinding, that's all for tonight.

Thanks for looking ....

Nice job you'd never know it was rusted.

:thankyou: That is exactly right .... but knowing the history of the car and seeing the rust everywhere else I knew the roof had to come off the car.

Gotta do it right .... steady the course

Garage time!

It's snowing outside and cold but I figured I'd better get something done cuz spring break is over and it's back to school Monday. I got the roof separated from the driver's quarter and then I drilled out the spot welds across the back glass area ... it wasn't as bad as the front

Cleaned up nice .... wish I could spray epoxy this weekend.

I will work on the other side this weekend and get all ready for some epoxy when the weather permits ... :popcorn2:

Thanks for looking .... it's late, more tomorrow!

Drilling out all those spot welds can kick your butt. That is one thing I am glad is over with on my build.

It kicked my butt last night .... but I told myself I was gonna finish this part tonight. So I fired up the heater and kept at it til it was done - it was 2300 when I got inside

Looks like there is 5 inches of snow outside now and it's still snowing .... oh well. I'll be in the garage here in a short.
