Dave, even though you're a Ford guy with a Chevy complex, you were a top notch pilot.

Yea that's right after 3900 miles in Betsy you are a Ford guy you just don't realize it. :lmao: :lmao: (Queue the bromance commentary from Todd :popcorn2: )

:y0!: Now lets find this one.

Rob,

My 'better part of 2 days' comment was referring to adding the full day lost for the clutch and throwout bearing repairs..to whatever time you and Ron took to work on it at his place.

Some round up in life, some round down...lol

The main thing is of course, as we all know, it didn't leave you by the side of the road.

That hauler is a party bus Rob, I'm in.

It was a fun trip to follow along with. After meeting you Rob,(and Dave), I never took you for such philosophers.LOL

Thanks man. I just downloaded that app. Looks cool. We've been using the TV Food maps site for food and then cross referencing with Yelp and other sites. We've been scoring at a high rate so far.

Saw that piece you did for Ron.... man that was ridiculous cool.

Anyone who takes a trip like this should do a couple simple things.

1. Put the Food TV travel page in your favorites on your phone and follow Guys advice on Dinners, drive Inns and Dives; he is pretty right on.

2. Stop at any local craft brewery that posts a closing time that ends in "ish"

3. Use Aron's brewery app it's another winner.

4. Don't plan things out to much they always come out different.

5. Don't worry if your plans seem to fall apart, just reboot and make a new plan; and keep moving.

6. Never comply with the No Parking signs if you are only going to be away from your vehicle for less than 15 min. If you do it will slow you down and you will miss too much. (the exception is the blue handicapped parking spots; If you park in those you are a dick and deserve to be towed)

7. Never pass up a Maple Bacon glazed Doughnut fresh out of the oven.

8. Don't order Lamb fries they suck, no really they do, don't.

9. Spend the extra time to show your friends ALL the features on their phones. Like how to disable the audio alert for some people and display only the last post of each txt string so they don't feel like you are monopolizing their important phone.

First, thanks for the props on the diff cover guys. Had fun making it for Ron. As you found out by his hospitality, he's a great guy. Hope he can get his little go cart finished up and get it out on the track.

Second, how cool is it I helped make the top 3 on Rob's list :D Glad the app worked out. I'm a borderline beer snob and homebrewer, still learning, but that's the fun part - taste testing. Hey in Flagstaff did you hit Lumberyard Brewing? Pretty neat place and I remember the food being very good. I've been there when there was 2 feet of snow...who new it snowed in AZ:headscratch: . Speaking of, you guys timed the trip thru to south just right...recent storm has shut everything down.

So many of us I'm sure, would have loved to been on the trip you guys just did, you'll never forget it. Its good to hear your analogy of the brotherhood and its funny how most people don't get it. I shared a hotel room with a fellow car guy that I never met in person once. My wife asked how I knew him, my reply is well, I met him online :underchair: lol. I've since met a lot of really genuine, down to earth, nice people 'online'.

Glad you guys had a good time and made it back safe. I'm sure Ron will take care of all your expenses for hauling the '66 Camaro back for him. :slingshot:
Kinda bummed you guys are back, it was the best thread going here lol.

Guess I'll have to update some of my stuff and the wife's vette thread now to keep my mind off wanting to go on an epic road trip...

Rob and Dave I wish I could have met up with you guys for lunch but I understand. It was a long trip and I got to enjoy all of it through your posts.
I'm glad it was a smooth trip and you both enjoyed yourselves.

That was awesome. I totally "get it" ... as many of my best racing experiences have been the trips.

Thanks for sharing it with all of us.
