Yeah my car is a flat bottom front to rear with a diffuser.
I did have to create a cutout to account for droop of the 3rd member, and I also have a cutout for the bellhousing which drops about 1.5" below the "ground plane". That makes it better than nothing but having those holes probably reduces the benefit quite a bit. In my case the floor is the flat bottom, and then I just have dzused on panels front and rear. The panels are alumalite which doesn't make the best material for a splitter but it works great for these kinds of panels. If you design the car right its actually pretty easy to do this, they key is getting the exhaust out in the rockers so you're not trying to encapsulate it. If one was serious about tracking the car you would want to extend the flat floor out beyond the rockers anyway but that's just having fun at that point. I don't know what good its ever done me except to encapsulate oil leaks ha ha. |
Really looking good now Dave!
I'm going to have to build a new race car to keep up with the lap times you're going to lay down in your street car! LOL |

A diffuser is very striking and obviously functional if done right (really dig Alcala's on his Mustang) and that may be something added to Jim's punchlist before it leaves NC. Quote:

I'll be chasing Payton anyway.... so you should target him first. :trophy-1302: |
Gwen, is that you? Surely Greg would not say such positive things in this thread.
Ha Dave I was thinking the same exact thing till you said it.:knokwood: Any way nice progress and good to see you moving in the right Direction. Shane |

So you like "nowhere, fast.... " hahahahahahahahahaha That must be Gwen posting. |
That's not fair, Greg. This car has traveled many miles over the last ten years. Not under it's own power, but that's progress?:tv_happy:
