Hot Rodding has ALWAYS BEEN about putting different stuff - from other cars - including other manufacturers on your car. Back in the day - a Cadillac engine was the hot ticket - then it was the Lincoln - then the Olds…

Been tempted many times to put a Chebby in my
Firechicken after toasting the last 8 motors..but
just don't have the heart to do it.. 500 inches of
Pontiac is cool

Could we possibly get some actual real updates in this dyslexic thread...

fleet 12-14-2013 01:36 PM

Picked up the April '69 issue of 'Hot Rod' magazine recently.

After reading it today, and seeing the ads etc., I came away thinking that Rob is probably a little ahead of his time. :unibrow:

Don't get me wrong, if you want to put a Yugo engine in your 2014 vette, have at her, who am I to say. That's the great thing about this hobby everybody has a different taste. It would be pretty boring if there was only ONE way. My personal taste is to have a Ford in a Ford and so on.

Both IMO but more Doc, cuz Rob saw the future and it called for a great chassis needing to be underneath Torzilla. :D

Ron,
not sure how to respond to your post on helping with
the Pontiac motors.. but I spun bearings or threw rod
bolts in most of them.. most were junk yard dogs and all
needed better oiling downstairs.. I did run a sump accumulator
for a while on one that let it live until I thought I was smart enough
to remove it to save weight.. spun the bearings on that one

New motor is the first one with all the good stuff inside, road race
pan, Kaufman block, accumulator etc.. it had an issue with rocker
arms-(engine builder did not get the angles right on a canted valve motor)
Now a shaft system is going in so hopefully it will live and I can start
working on adjusting the suspension
I have 3 old motors and one block that I hope to someday
go thru and fix some things so I can have a spare

thanks,

Panteracer Norcal Bob

Rob,
have you had any chance to work on
the car lately.. I know the Holidays keep
everyone busy but sometimes you can sneak
away and get some work done.. is that motor
location now done?

Well --- I found this thread on the scrap heap -- back about page 7.....

Since this build will never get off the jackstands... or is it... the trailer... you might as well make a coffee table out of that FE motor and just buy this and get it over with.

A real friend would just buy it for me.:D

Look, I went to Taiwan, flew back and jumped straight on another plane to Boston, hopped in a truck and drove 3900+ miles across the country.

I know it seems like I should have got something done on the Torino but I'm only human.:waveflag:

Jerr Dawgy ---- He can only play the sympathy card until after this weekend... That's giving him a work week to catch up on his sleep (sleeps at the office) and then a weekend to actually work on this neglected project.
