I'll probably be jumping up and down like a school girl when that day comes for me. Haha. I know its hard to capture in video but you can tell that's a monster waiting to be unleashed!

Yeah it's huge. I was trying to keep it cool, but insides were hoping!

Thanks Ron... I love the way mine XR-1's are sounding even over the video. Raced home from work and had to watch the vid on the big monitor with the volume turned up so the sub could shake the floor. Good thing the wify wasnt home.

I had to dump the exhaust before the rear end. Couldnt get them 3" pipe around the AirBar and shockwaves. I know its going to be loud but thats all part of it.

It is all in the camera work.;)

It was really cool to be there with you when you finally heard it fire up. I was STOKED and it wasn't even my car.

I think Ron was in shock. He was calm :headscratch: and relatively quiet, that's not Ron. I know he was playing it cool in front of the Ford guy.

Congratulations buddy.

Not sure how I missed this one... I must have been on some super killer road trip with a hot rod or a race car... :poke: :mock:

That couldn't have been my wedding picture! I know that because I was married in Grey wool pin stripes --- because I was the VP and partner of a New York City import firm. I didn't have room for welders in my apartment and for several years didn't even have a car!!!

Cheers!

Engine sounds beastly buddy.....

And you're right.... open headers and O2 sensors don't play nice together.

Go easy on the man, those were the Jimmy Carter years. :bur2:

BTW Greg, was any thought given to importing and exporting? ;)

Yeah --- but I couldn't get clear title to Ron's Camaro.... can't even remember which shop it was at back then... Of course the car was only 10 years old at the time. Now the motor is that old. :smiley_smack:

67ragtp 07-14-2013 05:12 AM

Hey Ron

Congrats on getting the engine fired up, really sounds healthy. I heard you mention how quickly it revs up, these motors are sick. First thing I noticed when I fired mine. Must be all the light weight Ti inside. So I just re did the complete fuel system, Fast102r,nw102,ID850s, carls zl1 pump, holy crap it now revs like it has ITB's on it. Seat dyno really improved power under the curve.
Im psyched for you, can't wait to hear more.- Rich

214Chevy 07-14-2013 06:36 AM

The sound of that engine is music to my ears. Sounds mean and like it's ready to tear up the auto-x. :drive:

Funny you mention that Rich. I was talking with QMP on Friday about the future dyno day and they said they got 20 hp in back-to-back with the Fast 102 and NW. I was trying my best to defend the ported factory stuff.

I guess I'll save that for part II. Thx for jumping in Brother

Reminds me of Run to the Alamo..... a shop with two Mustangs unloads the cars off the trailer -- one is brand spankin' new build... a "helper" is tossed the keys and told to go down the street to fill it with gas.... The street is wet... and heavily crowned... The station is 4 blocks away. The car is upside-down in the ditch.

Rybar 07-17-2013 03:38 PM

Ron sorry man, late to the party. Congrats on getting that engine bay completed and the motor fired up.
