:thankyou: I must have OCD to keep this up, but I started out to do the right thing, not the easy thing .... so that's what keeps me going.

Thanks for looking ... should I get a roll bar in while the roof is off? I'm thinking it would be better to weld and such.  The roof is on the way ....:D

Good Camaro Day

Got some epoxy sprayed  Finally, seems like my camaro has been naked for some time ... not any more.

Finish with the POR15 on the front header that was rusted and the rest just cleaned up with the fiber disc .... which was really good. Took most of the day to prep and spray two medium coats but it is done and came out good.

I sprayed the firewall, inside both the side cowls, top and bottom of the roof bows, drip rails, package tray and the back seat area of the quarters.

On to some pictures ... mostly one color now :headspin:

Drivers side cowl!

The rear header was in better shape than the front.

Inside shot of cowl

Passenger side cowl all better!

So that is what I did today and now I must study for a Stats 512 test ....

Thanks for looking ...

:thankyou: I still think you are way ahead of my timeline .... I would like to be done with the body work by summers end and working on suspension and subframe, etc.

I went back and looked at page 1 pictures .... what a difference!

makoshark 04-08-2013 07:14 PM

Have you decided on your suspension yet?

I will go Ride Tech all the way ... just buy the whole package deal and I won't' have to worry about things not fitting. Probably won't go triple adjust on the shocks ... just don't see the need for a street car.

If I win the lottery ... there may be changes :relax:

:thankyou: :thankyou: it may not be base coat but it sure is a milestone for me .... seeing it in epoxy  My roof is in and will test fit tonight!

How is your hip? Been able to get therapy and work on your car? Best wishes.

Roof is here!

Got the roof up on top of the car by myself what a PITA, basically pulled it up to the top by sliding it across the cowl (which is lined w/ wool blanket) and then ducking inside the car and kept inching it up to lay down w/o sliding off the car. Man this roof is heavy and there is no handles!

Overall the fit is good the roof looks a little wider and may have to trim (contour) some off the drip rails. Started to work on the front corners get it to lay flat on the bows and in the rails, it would fit into one side, but not both ..... needs work of course.

So I did some slicing and body hammer and it's closer, think I need to get the rails narrower so she lays into the drip rail channel without forcing it.

Anyways ... here are the pictures of the AMD roof skin straight outa the box.

Roof is on ... didn't drop it!

Drivers side corner ... too wide and wrong angle.

Passenger side is closer ... but needs so loving :shakehead:

Drip rail is close but too wide and will need to be trimmed!

Roof skin is real close in the back and the front will require most of my time and effort. Need to get this roof skin spot on before I tackle the quarters ... cuz then I have to lift the roof skin and put the quarters under the lip like the factory did in 67.

Thanks for looking ... more to come.

waynieZ 04-15-2013 04:21 PM

Nice to see you have your top hat on! All the big holes are getting closed up. glad it fits pretty well some need to be sliced above the quarter to make them fit.
Thanks for asking.Feeling pretty good, going to make a small table to put the trans on and get it ready for paint.
