Man I wish I had a driving update! Yesterday I towed the car down to Warner Custom Exhaust in Oceanside. The place has done Matt's, Gregg's and another BOS customer Tom's Camaro and all were very happy. Towing was an episode of keystone cops and a little harrowing - U-haul sucks and I gotta buy a trailer.

Anyway, I took a page from Charlie and Mark and did something similar to Jack A$$ since we have the same front/rear suspension. 3"/16 ga. 304 SS and expansion joints, v-band clamped to a siamese x-pipe (corvette style), into my custom offset Borla XR1s and up and over the axles. All mandrel bends, Tig and purge welded.

I almost fainted when I got the quote today.:waveflag:

Done right, and should be out of the shop next Wednesday.

When the time comes ... I suggest a TPD trailer. They are the best built small to medium size enclosed car trailer. They tow & brake excellent. Super well built. Have the sealed axle bearings changed every two years & it will last as long as you want it. Then when you sell it, you're probably get your money back.

I had several. The 20' with two 5200# axles or 24' with three 3500# axles are awesome combinations. You can see them here.

Thanks Ron. I will be shopping more seriously as soon as I wrap up the project.

Ron,

Did you convey you have no problem paying for quality work and materials, but you just felt uneasy about paying for the addition on his house too?

That number is about right Bro. I do need to set the record straight though: my comment on cost in no way reflects on the vendor quality or fairness of his pricing. I'm just used to buying junky 4x4 cat-back stuff. Now I know better :sieg:

no worries, not my intent either.

I had a client wet himself too but he went to an exhaust shop to get it done for 1/2 the price. He came back later to have me redo it. Cost him $3500 in the long run. Those v bands aren't cheap either.

Can't wait to hear this car go!!

So meanwhile, we have ignition! Rob's camera work in action (I told him to keep his thumbs to himself ):

Cold oil = 85 to 100 PSI. Open headers and the O2 sensors are wreaking havoc. Also need to work on some harness grounds and other stuff, but the engine harmonics are good. Valve train purrs and the car really wants to rev. Like now. Probably is just a DBW TB adjustment, but my ego is happy :headspin:

It's a good day :D

Dude, congrats big time---very happy to hear this running!

I've tried to catch up as much as possible today---what's really left on yours before you are road worthy now? I am really looking forward to seeing the car in person man---plus there may be parts that you want to sell by that time---lol---doesn't sound like that has changed much.

When is shock shipping day? :poke:

Thanks man; so glad to see you hanging out here agian!! After BoS gets it back there's a little bit of fab. I'm guessing (oh no!) about a month and then it's off to interior. I want to get all the weight in the car (ugg) before I start messing with stance...:D

yeah but the end of the night in Vegas is around 11AM.....since when do you guys use brits english for getting loaded blind?

ron, hows the car going?

chr2002ca 07-31-2013 11:50 AM

Awesome. It's great to see the continued progress on your ride. It's got to feel great hearing her run and know that it won't be long now. We can all attest to the fact there will be probably be a lengthy 'dial-in' and 'tinkering' period for you to get everything truly squared away, but you're really getting close to that point of being able to take her out for a spin. I'm sure we'll be cruising and catching up with each other in no time.
