Car is looking great, I wouldn't worry to much about the color of the primer, done properly, your painter should lay down a coat of sealer prior to painting. The sealer can be tinted if necessary, if not, it will at least provide a uniform base.

I cleaned up the parking brake pedal assembly last night. I used Safest Rust Remover, I soaked it over night and just rinsed with water and dried it. It came out pretty good. I'm going to coat it with satin clear and satin black. Thats the original paint on there. Let me know what you think.
Here are the before pictures.

Not too shabby aaaaahhh! Tonight I'm soaking the clutch, brake pedals and the support. I need to order more rust remover.

Thats the name of it Safest Rust Remover. Here's the link. I got it online. Its always done a good job for me. http://www.ultraone.com/ Check out the videos they have of it working. Its amazing. I have some of their degreaser but I haven't tried it yet.

Wow! That stuff is amazing! No scrubbing or anything? Just soak it?

waynieZ 09-27-2011 10:51 AM

No scrubbing. You just have to keep it wet, either submerge it or make it flow over the part with a small pump. Once I didn't have enough to cover the part so I took a piece of thick cloth and wet it and just pored it over the cloth every so often to keep it wet and it still worked.
