Neat thread idea...

I always liked Jon Field's helmet design.

Yeah...ain't the first time, unfortunately.

I saw where they sold the cars and the shop after the 2011 season, and I knew something must be coming down again. Clint was always listed as the owner of Intersport Racing, but Jon and Joel seem to have had a habit of doing things like this for awhile with their restaurant ventures. Racing ain't cheap when you're blowing AER motors almost every race trying to keep up with factory LMP1 teams. :/

Yeah, I think he was convicted of embezzlement from Banana Joe's Restaurant in the early 2000's. I remember them running MG Chassis, then Riley & Scott, then Lola - that takes Deep Pockets. Nobody ever said that Racing wasn't addictive!

Yeah, exactly...especially when you're constantly running up front like they were. I was at Petit in 2010, where they lasted the entire race and actually beat one of the Audi entries. It was unreal considering they went through a motor at earlier in the season at Road America in practice, and then grenaded a borrowed engine in the first hour of the race, and retired from a few other races throughout the season.

But anyways...can't cheat Uncle Sam. He will find out. :warning:

Motorsports is littered with Guys that embezzled to Fund their Teams! Mostly Sportscars, but Drag Racing, IndyCar & F-1 has seen it. Their was also a Reason that a nickname of IMSA was International Marijuana Smugglers Association - The Whittington Bros, John Paul Sr, & Randy Lanier were some of the Biggest Drug Dealers in America. Even Pablo Escobar had Race Cars

The Feds are really after Scott Tucker now. Tax Evasion through PayDay Loan Companies that charge beyond the Legal Limit on Interest. He did it by "Rent a Tribe", paying Indian Tribes to be the "Front" of the Company. He basically used the same formula in Racing (Level 5 Racing) as Jon Field but upped the Ante by hiring the Top Drivers to race with him (Franchitti, Briscoe, Brabham, Hunter-Reay, etc)

^ That's a sweet helmet idea...I still want to paint a particular Rebel pilot helmet design on an open face helmet. Maybe that's something I can do in my free time in the future.

Yeah, I knew Tucker had already been a convicted felon from before, and I wondered if something was going down again when he abruptly left the series and sold the cars right after winning Daytona.

Granted, tax evasion is a crime only because you're ripping off the govt...which I think the govt gets enough money as is, but that's a different argument. Tucker and Field, while they got caught, I don't think they're NEARLY the criminals that Greg Loles proved to be!
