Lateral-g Forums - Full Size Pro-touring???

The plan is for a C6 based suspension (no transaxle) optimized for serious road course duty with a bored and stroked 650 hp 427 cid LT5 with a 6 speed manual. Not sure if anyone makes them already for the 1/4 mile guys, but a carbon fiber hood, fenders and trunk lid would be a good idea for these land yachts-:)
Allkar did a lot of chop work for me and really did a great job of nailing the look I want.

Funny you should mention AWD...

I thought of that because of the cars you referred to having that edge, but I haven't looked into it because I have never heard it used in a racing application for a car this size.

I have it on my Buick Rainier V8 AWD and what I like about it is you don't know its there, but you feel surefooted all the time.

Great looking 55! I love the PT look and the Nomad wheelwells on there. Subtle yet aggressive! Can't wait to see progress!

Here's some more chops for the '55 fans out there in cyberspace...

I grew up looking at a '55 Nomad and that's the only style rear qtr. I'd have on my '55.

Also makes changing big wheels and tires way, way more doable.

Love them and the abbreviated quarter trim to clear the wheelwell is slick too! Looks like your biggest problem will be picking a color(s)! I'd love to see a few other subtle P/T styling cues peppered around that car to surprise people. Maybe a unique grille treatment, hood vents, spoiler or a diffuser coming through the rear bumper??? Just thinking out loud and i'm a firm believer in less is more but I look forward to seeing what other trick ideas you come up with!

The plan is to add some of the P-T styling components you mentioned.
Not the easiest car to make some of those things work on. Rad Rides '62 'Chicayne' used those items you mentioned and they really flowed with Chevy's original design.

I also agree with the less is more philosphy, like Roy Brizio does whose car was used for the chops. I included it so you can really see the changes. The only thing we didn't finish was having the rear chrome trim strip line up with the ridge line on the front fender. The sky blue chop with the graphite wheels centers (borrowed from Dale Jr's Camaro) has that mod.

I think I've posted this on here a couple of times... We built this 63 that uses all C6 drivetrain and suspension, and is powered by an LS7. I want to build a similar 67/68 Buick Electra 225 someday.
