T'was a good Sunday..got the nose on and pulled it outside, pretty good feeling. After we pulled it back in we decided to turn it around so it actually got to touch the road (and I fought off the temptation to take it down the street since we still haven't aligned everything..).

New video..I think it's getting louder as it gets broken in...

It Fits!

Well, almost...damn aftermarket fenders. I managed to get it lined up, after an hour or so of work. Not overly happy with the gaps on everything but it's not bad for a glass hood and a mismatched set of fenders.

Raised it up a bit more in the front, needs a shorter spring to bring the rear down a touch and I'll be happy

It will see the drag strip the most, but autocross, track days, and the Texas Mile are in the plans.

Well, Christmas was fun, 4 straight 6+ hour days in the shop, got it insulated, windowed, headlighted and blinkered, and front and rear aligned, and finally took it down the road Sunday afternoon (before the first of the year, I knew we could do it!!)

Video (that I'm too lazy to edit) - couple hard hits of the throttle in there, just stick with it

We had ordered Hushmat for it..then decided against it due to both the price and the weight..
http://www.acmeautopartsonline.com/c...s/IMG_4781.jpg

Went to Lowe's and got this, $16 for a big roll, weighs next to nothing
http://www.acmeautopartsonline.com/c...s/IMG_4782.jpg

And used velcro to lay it down so we can pull it out if needed

Continued..

Also did a little resto work on the original door panels.

Started with this..here's why we don't smoke, kids
http://www.acmeautopartsonline.com/c...s/IMG_4800.jpg

Cleaned..
http://www.acmeautopartsonline.com/c...s/IMG_4801.jpg

And dyed..
http://www.acmeautopartsonline.com/c...s/IMG_4796.jpg

Gave it eyes..gotta do a little more work on the headlight trim rings before they can go on
http://www.acmeautopartsonline.com/c...s/IMG_4787.jpg

And tackled the window hurdle (luckily they will only go back in one way)

Registration, insurance, and some carpet and we're ready to go. Now to get everything broken in..

I was just out @ a local drag strip here in N.Tx last night (Redline Raceway, Greenville Tx) & saw this car @ the track.

I thought it was super clean & went to get a closer look. The more I looked... the more I liked. I got to meet & chat w/the owners & bench-race a little while learning their plans for the car. Very nice group to say the least.

It wasn't until I was driving home that I kept running the car thru my brain thinking...... "man, it seems like I've seen that car before somewhere". Sure enough, I started looking back through here @ a Camaro I remembered that I thought was a pretty neat build & it was indeed the same car.

Again, nice car & even nicer people. Good luck @ Drag Week!
