I do understand promoting products by vendors and manufacturers, but I do not understand the private build that is useless as a vehicle and will be outdated before next season.

I have wondered the same thing before. However, I think thats why Mark Steilow's cars have been such an inspiration too many. Very detail oriented, some trick, but mostly very functional parts/peices and alot of people can afford to build something like his builds (minus Jackass).

After the build complete you can actuall drive the cars like they where meant to be. Most of the cars at SEMA with these super builds dont see much road time, not to mention track time.

IMO as more and more of these builds are completed and then 'tracked', logically the term 'pro-touring' should grow in stature, and even the onlookers will be able separate the mens from the boys cars.

Events such as Optima, RTTH and the Motorstate Challenge should continue to grow in popularity as more and more individuals discover the fun you can have after you build a real pro-touring car.

I would also like some more info on a couple of cars if anyone has some.

I just tried to post both pics but they are too large.

It is the yellow second gen camaro with the carbon fiber rear spoiler and LS motor, and the orange second gen with white stripes. BOTH of these cars have the Optima challenge decal on the doors and are posted in the link Skip put up here with the SEMA pics.

Thanks for any leads on info.

Here ya go Eric!

The yellow Camaro is Brian Finch's and the orange Camaro is Randy Johnson from D&D Performance. Brian Finch also has a shop, but the name slips my mind right now. Brian drove his Camaro from Tennessee to Vegas with Bill Howell and the gang.

Brandon

Thanks for the info. And for the extra pics. I will do a little digging around and see if I can find build info on both.

Very cool that Brian drove his out that far!

Not a problem Eric. Maybe you can check with someone that works for Optima or ask Steve Rupp. He may who to ask or who owns those cars. Good luck!
