That dash is going to look slick in there. New parts sweet. Nice progress on the frame too.

thx :)
sweet snow! yikes!! http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h1...7/Foto0580.jpg today wanted to bring my frame back home but unfortunately the truck had problems. hopefully next weekend the frame will be back in there. http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h1...7/Foto0581.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h1...7/Foto0583.jpg got the camaro hydraulic clutch cylinder in. looks like came from stock ;) http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h1...7/Foto0584.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h1...7/Foto0585.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h1...7/Foto0586.jpg |

How much work are you going to have near the front window to make it fit?
|
I alread cut about 2.5" off each end of the dash. Looks like I need to cut 3" off the whole back (matching the curve of the window). I already made a cardboard template of the stock dash and put on the 59 dash.
Now, few days ago I found this sweet malibu: http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...0181_large.jpg http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...0180_large.jpg http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2121575/1 I really like the wheels on the car and so I did this photoshop: http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h1...teCarlo/1b.jpg http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...4015_large.jpg I really like that "retro-look" with the 15" Rally wheels and I think they also would fit my "retro-theme" on the monte (with my 1959 Impala dashboard & steering wheel and everything)... what do you guys think? you know here in germany everybody own/drives new european cars. almost no american cars. all car enthusiasts put big wheels on there. I thought would be cool to bring the oldschool back on streets with the 15" rally wheels ;) |
That last pic looks great. 15's still work, they just aren't trendy enough for some & ultimately limit you on tire choice & brake size.

thx :)
I just looked around for some nice retro gauges and came to this: http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h1...uments_com.jpg If I'll get this I'll get a KPH instead MPH speedo custom made by classicinstruments. and well, I found some classic hot rodding looking rims - Eagle Alloy 225. They come in 18x8 (fronts) and 18x10 (rear). http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/h...0/100_0304.jpg http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/h...0/100_0379.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h1...teCarlo/1d.jpg now finally back working on the monte carlo again. last week I received the frame back and started painting with POR15. I'll coat it with few coats of POR15 "Rust Preventive Paint" and finish it with POR15 "Chassis Coat Black". http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h1...9/IMAG0052.jpg frame's underside painted with POR15 rust preventive http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h1...6/IMAG0082.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h1...6/IMAG0081.jpg |
Looks great! I like it with the first set of wheels you bought. Makes that body style look better.
