Exactly! BJ is in the prime position, it never matters what the car cost to build or what it sells for, they make the cash either way. And Speed for whoring themselves out to all of the advertisers of course. These commercials are killing the whole thing for me.

DVR= Record, come back later and shave 4 hours off by skipping the ads.

My thoughts exactly. But I feel like if a guy were to home build a badass car such as a Mustang or a Camaro and say only have 35 to 45 thousand in it he should be able to carry it to BJ and make some coin. High dollar shop built cars like this one, I can see not getting back 100% of the money invested and I know the owner didnt have the car built to make money on it.

Making a profit on a " badass " car is easier said than done. I have always justified spending money, and I can be cheap, tying it up. If I can come close to breaking even when it sells, then I'm happy.

Scott --- Well said. I'm thinking that this might be the last year I watch any of it on TV... it's become boring. Way too many commercials.... and frankly - a LOT of erroneous information.

There was no - none - zip - "buzz" this year at BJ... I'm not sure if the weather played a part in that or not. And here's another observation. 2 years ago - I wanted to buy some pieces of the stuff that a couple outfits do - restored old gas pumps - and misc shop pieces. They're top notch - and they get top notch prices. Most of them where sold on the FIRST DAY of BJ... so I was out of luck on a couple things I would have bought.

THIS YEAR --- I'm looking at the stuff SATURDAY afternoon - and very little was tagged SOLD.... most of it's going to go home with the vendor.

HUGE DIFFERENCE.... just HUGE. Ditto most of the "art". In years past - you had to be pretty fast and not drool too long or the piece you wanted was gone... this year - you could still buy all of it - anything you wanted - and barter on the price too!

Aparently some haven't heard of DVR. ;)

That's how we watch it. Just hold fast forward. But you have to be careful. It's easy to completely miss the 3 seconds of coverage they give some cars.

Thanks for the correction Greg. Yes it's a 35 and is wonderful! It must of been the sun or more likely the coronas down here in Mexico getting to me... :D

Hell yea.. we DVR it and then watch.. I blew through 4 hours of coverage in about an hour.

I would litterally be like two cars and then commercials. One time I swear it was ONE CAR before the next commercial break.

DVR is the ONLY way to watch this.

Alot has changed in the last couple of years and I think he got some good coin for a car that has already been exposed everywhere. Personally I think Copperback was the better purchase for the money, but I'm partial to the color!

I was there also selling a car and I believe all of Dougs money on the car was the auction raising the bid. The money was not real! Another beautiful thing about those auctions!
