I thought you had a black trailer and hated the color?

Dude...

There is only ONE color -- and that's BLACK.

I hate that it gets dirty maybe -- but I don't hate the color!

I distinctly remember you complaining about keeping it clean and the fact that it became an oven when the outside temp was warm/hot.....

If history is any prediction, you'll get it in black now.....and get all the bells and whistles...and 6 months from now, you'll re-do the whole thing anyway :)

GregWeld 01-11-2011 07:00 PM

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I hate to admit it but it's so true.

Yes the black is an oven --- but the LQ part has A/C... and I don't hang out in the back except to unload the car. Never been in a trailer when it's 90* outside whether it's white or black - that wasn't an oven. As old and out of shape as I am - I'm sweating right now just thinking about it!

BTW -- I'm actually trying to avoid making a 6 figure mistake here.... Nothing worse than committing to something like this and then doing the "repeat after me.... you are a dumbazz" over and over in your head. Thus the reason I thought I'd toss this out there and try to learn first.

the one i bought is actually 5 feet shorter but its a stacker so yes it is bigger haha. Another thing you might want to consider is looking into getting some longer mirrors to see round the trailer that was a problem i had pulling my trailer with my duramax...... couldnt see around the thing untill i got some longer mirrors.

Have you considered a Haulmark motorcoach pulling a regular size car trailer or stacker. More versatile.

Don't get the coin flooring! I have it in mine and it's a pain in the arse to clean and keep looking nice. I have the outside halogen flood lights and I think I've used them once in 4 years. I would also suggest an air compressor and plumbed for air lines front and rear, I use mine more than I ever thought I would, it makes it easy for checking tire pressures and using an impact to change flats. I also have an in floor spare tire comparment that is nice for storing your spare tire out of the way.

Reverse lights are also nice on the outside corners

No --- And the only reason I say that is because I don't want to have to have a special rig. I want to keep my pick up or possibly a larger pick up but I don't want a dedicated rig for this. My primary reason for liv qtrs is just to stop on the road to and from somewhere -- I have ZERO intention of actually spending a week in this. It's a night here and there. So to have a big motor or toterhome is not what I want to do.

I have that in my current trailer... I store chains and a spare portable winch. After having one blow out on I-10 out of Palm Springs - and having to back the car up so I could access the spare -- FT!! It's a TRAILER not my living room! I mounted the spare on a mount back by the rear door up high - that way I can just grab it with no unstrapping the car etc.

I have an air compressor already. And yes - I wouldn't be without it. And yes - agree with the side lights - I've used mine ONE TIME. But that one time - was totally kool and useful. They're for pro racer dudes that are out there constantly and working on their stuff. Hot rodder just trailer from place to place so we use our trailers quite differently.

I also have an all aluminum race jack in a pit pal holder.... used it TWICE - but man was it handy. It's one of those -- "better to have it and not need it - than need it and not have it" kind of things. I also carry 3 ton jackstands. They fit in the tire pit.

Most useful handy magical thing ever in the trailer -- a jacking ramp thing I bought at a trailer store never thinking I'd ever use it. If a tire is flat - say the rear - you pull the good one up on the ramp and the flat is off the ground instantly. SUPER EASY! OMG! My flat was on the front so just backed the good rear one on this ramp and bingo bango -- changed and done! pull forward and store the plastic "ramp". :woot:

Yes! I added halogen backing lights in the rear - and up the middle of the trailer. Having been caught once on a dark rainy night - dead tired - and having to back my BLACK trailer (24' Motortrac 4000) up 200' and then around a corner with brick walls on both sides.... I'M TOTALLY A FAN OF BIG BACKUP LIGHTS! My Ford has the "upfitter switches" --- which are relayed... totally perfect for that kind of stuff! I have four of them -- so the CB and the Texas Star is on one (30 amp relay) -- back up lights on the truck on one - and have two left for trailer backing lights.

I also have 20 - count 'em - 20 - side marker lights.... Optional - and on the order already! EEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

This f'n thing - should I decide to pull the trigger - will look like a light show rolling down the road! DUDE! <spicoli style> LOL

You're about the third person to say DON'T on the coin floor.

So I'm thinking about just asking them to leave the "box" plywood - painted/sealed.... and maybe having the floor done in bed liner? Or maybe
just leaving it plain and painted.

My current trailer has polished diamond plate --- talk about a waste of money and slippery! One drop of coolant or fluid - and you're going to the hospital with a broken hip!:willy:
