Small update... I did not like the first set of frame rails we did .. we decided to re-do them to match what we already had designed for the Mustang rear 3-link clip.. plus we have sub-frame connectors...

I also asked Ben Hermance to do the BB rendering in red with a SS stripe & Yenko hood.. This is the theme of the car!

This is what I am thinking about for my gas tank.. dual cells in front of the axle.. down side it will only hold 10 gallons of fuel..
Carl C from Vaporworks will pay us a visit this week to discuss my idea...

Chris I love the dual tank idea. I have alway's hated the time bomb in the back of these old cars.

Lotus has a similar set up and I had considered using it on the 70 but I didn't want to sacrfice the rear seat. If you cut in the rear seat area you might be able to get a few more gallons. heck if your running a LS and get two 6 gallon tanks you would still get close to 200 miles out of the tanks which is simlar to my Wonderful 5.3 Tahoe.

What about a tank that would go over the hump in the back seat? That should get you a couple of more gallons... or just go bigger and make the back seat a "shelf"... just thinking out loud.

Purpose for putting the gas tank in front of the axle is to distribute the weight towards the center of the car.. & maintain the center of gravity in the middle.. Plus I don't want all that weight swinging back their.. With a LS motor I will get decent gas milage... Just got a new LS3 crate motor!

^This. Id be willing to bet if you fabbed it right you could even run the C5 pumps. Ill have to run by and talk about it, lord knows ive changed about 500 or more fuel pumps in C5's. This is actually a very cool, and good design for a number of reasons.

New Caddy and new Camaro also use the C5/C6 concept with a much better pump/bucket/sump idea. Pontiac G8GT uses same. Vaporworx kit uses the same camaro pump. Carl will hook ya up with the best info.

2005 Mustangs have the same concept but it is on one tank.. I had already been talking to Carl about this.. Basically said don't worry about it.. we will get it to work.. I have the whole idea in my head by now got to get fabricating the the tanks... We will build the tank out of aluminum...

Here is one we built for the 70 Mustang..
