No, iron block.. I'm not a baller like you.. But, lightweight internals and a shaft rocker system.. I'm doing it for my non-LS readers and because I just want to tinker with something different. Later I envision an LS swap.

Going conservative on the power.. 760ish hp and 750ish tq..

Says the guy with two Camaros to my none. :action-smiley-027: I have to admit, I'm a little disappointed it won't be aluminum. Those aftermarket steel blocks are tanks. You may want to consider the fact that if you did build it with an aluminum block, you may never lust for an LS. Especially since you are going to inject it. It's 4k now or alot more later to change it or ls swap.

Your hp/tq numbers look super conservative for a higher winder. I'm sure you are just playing coy...

Greg, weight is ALWAYS a disadvantage in racing. :mock: To what degree remains unseen.

Dynoed around 865 hp with high compression 510, but he rather have an LS motor. Just to expensive to change over now. Currently, it is being rebuilt, but he has to inject lot of NOS to be competitive with the LSX engines.

Stielow's Mayhem 427 engine has less cubic inches and the LS9, still made more hp than a big block on pump gas. Not sure why anyone want a big block.

Jeff

That would be the merger of Bill Mitchell and Dart? Two SEPARATE companies... I think you meant to say he has a Dart BIG M block...

Some guys are still dinosaurs... big inches, big weight, and carburetors.... Go figure. :bitchslap: :D

I got you covered on two of the three. I may even run Dino Oil in mine just to go with the theme.:D

Having done both the LSX and the BBC thing, I'll take my BBCs all day long. While the future is forever bright with the LSX gear, there's just simply nothing like unleashing 582 cubes on the street with a stick. And dare I say- they just look soooo much better.

Great choice on the color Steve. Reminds me of the M cars Laguna Seca Blue.

BBC huh? Now that's what I'm talking about :)

Car looks great. Can't wait till it starts coming together.
