I wish we'd had time to take Rodger to this place:

Stole this from another forum. Says they are SBC and NOT LS. :sieg:

Here are a couple of muffler photos that I took in the garages at the V8 Supercars race at COTA last weekend. Note that these cars are relatively quiet for anything that you will hear on a race track. The World Challenge Cadillacs and the GT3 Cup cars were, by far, the loudest cars on property all weekend.

Mufflers and exhaust are apparently not a spec item with this group. While one of the Erebus cars appeared to use a pair of Borla-looking mufflers (with no crossover, H, X, or whatever until after the mufflers, which was basically the tip as well), one of the Tekno cars used a pair of these fabricated mufflers.

Each muffler appeared to be fabricated from 3 parallel perforated tubes that were welded together, and contained on each end by a 3-into-1 collector. This assembly was contained inside the larger outer tube with a pair of end caps. According to the team, there was no packing inside the mufflers; they were just hollow inside. All of this did a pretty good job at quieting the 7500 rpm E85-powered EFI 305-inch SBC (not LSx) under the hood.

Very cool Dave. I've been using this in my boat for 10 years. Same concept. Got pulled over for over 91 Db, though

Now that would be a cool weekend, thanks for sharing! I like to see all of the engineering that goes into those cars.
