My car is a non-gauge, non-console car but I wanted to be able to monitor the new engine. I made this panel in the ashtray location and was able to do it without drilling any holes or cutting any existing wiring. I originally wanted to put the gauges inside the ashtray so I could close it up but there simply wasn't enough room for 2 gauges.

That was a great idea. Come out looking nice, too.

I tended to some small odds and ends today. I made a coil bracket to put the coil in the stock location to avoid holes in the firewall, etc. It clears the air cleaner base by about 1/8". I plan to use the stock throttle linkage, return spring, and wire separator (which attaches to the back manifold bolts). It's tough making everything fit like stock.
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t...sd23bb500.jpeg The flywheel dust shield required significant trimming to work with the 1 piece rear seal oil pan. But the starter is a really nice piece. http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t...s053dc100.jpeg |
Coming along nice!

The new headers arrived yesterday. I decided to upgrade from my old Hooker 2131 Super Comps to the new Hooker 2105-7HKR. These are 304 stainless and offer much better ground clearance, better exhaust port alignment, and O2 sensor bungs. Plenty of room around the plugs with my angle plug heads.

Cool stuff Neil.
What are the before and after primary & collector sizes on the Hookers? |

I went with a Ron Davis radiator and fan setup and it should be here in a couple weeks.

I'm no fabricator, but I spent more time than I care to admit getting everything to fit the way I wanted to on the back side of the intake. The stock throttle rod will pass just to the left of the coil and the vacuum line to the brake booster will tie into the custom bung on the backside of the runner.

It looks good.
