2-11-15... I was able to find a replacement seat to rob the tracks and recline mechanism. I got the passenger seat tracks modified and seat mounted into place. I also finished the floorboards by grinding the welds, applying seam sealer and a little paint.

I'm getting close to where I need to turn my focus on getting the LS running longer than a few seconds. The pressure's now on the guy making my tank!

Well guys, it's been a while since my last update. There's been a lot going on, both with the car and my life in general. My daughter graduated high school in May, so we had several college visits to decide where she was going to continue her collegiate volleyball career. Then we had to get her prepared to go away to school (that was a big adjustment) she ended up picking a college three hours away. Once we got her moved in in August, her volleyball games started. About every weekend, we've been traveling all over the tri-state area to watch her play. Through all this, during the past several months I've had a lot more garage time to work on the build. I'll try and catch you up to date...

June 7th - I made a trip to see Dean Lewis (Southern Illinois Muscle Car) in Flora, IL. Brought home enough sheet metal to keep me busy for awhile. Dean's a great guy to do business with...

July 12th - I was able to get a little garage time the past couple of days...
#1 got the old driver's side rocker panel and bottom of the rear quarter cut off.
#2 mocked up and started tacking in the new rocker panel.
#3 reinstalled the driver's door, temporarily for alignment purposes.
Once the rocker is completed, the rear quarter will be coming off next.

July 12th - I was also able to finally finish the wooden cribbing. This allows it to sit on all fours, but still be high enough to work on.

Aug. 23rd - I finished welding up the driver's side rocker and put a small patch in the bottom of the driver's door.

I also removed the poorly installed driver's side rear quarter panel. It exposed a lot of nasty patch jobs on the outer wheel-well and trunk area. The trunk photos also show how the previous owner patched the trunk floor with truck bed material.

My next step will be to start cutting out the old trunk floor to make room for the new one.

Aug. 24th - I had the honor of having Tom Farrington as guest in my garage to check out the build and bring me a special delivery from Michigan. Thanks to Aaron Oberle's latest engine upgrade, he was willing to part with his old exhaust system out of his Chevelle. This exhaust is track tested and has been on some of the biggest tracks including Daytona and Las Vegas. With it coming out of Aaron's 65', it will hopefully be a easy bolt-in. Aaron and I have tried a couple of times to meet up to get the exhaust, but with Aaron in Michigan and me in Indiana, we couldn't make it happen. A couple of weeks ago, Aaron was heading to Indiana with his Chevelle w/ new engine. He was meeting up with Tom to take their Chevelles out to Pikes Peak in Co. Aaron brought the exhaust with him and left it at Tom's for me to pick up later. Tom contacted me and told me that he was going to be in the area, this week for business and to pick up a few parts from Bowler Transmissions. He loaded up the exhaust and brought it down with him. He met me at the nearby gas station and followed me to my house to check out my work. My garage is no where near the shops that Aaron and Tom have and neither is the car, but I work with what I've got. Tom had nothing but kind words to say about my build and we were able to visit for a short time. Those of you that don't know or have never met Tom Farrington and Aaron Oberle, they are both great guys! I've met them both only one time and they've helped me out tremendously. Who else do you know that would transport an exhaust system from Michigan to southern Indiana and help you carry it into your garage, for someone they've only met once.

Aaron Oberle and Tom Farrington, I greatly appreciate everything you guys have done for me and my build, so far and I am proud to call you my friends!

Aug.31st - I was able to get the old center section of the trunk floor cut out and the new one welded in. Next will be the driver's side trunk floor panel and then the outer and inner wheel wells and trunk drop.

Sept. 3rd - I was able to get the driver's side trunk floor welded in and the trunk drop clamped into place. Starting to look like a floor.

Next up - weld in the trunk drop and then move onto the wheel well.

Sept. 21st - I was able to remove the old outer wheel-well and part of the inner wheel-well. I then installed the new outer wheel-well, modify the new inner wheel-well and the area of the of the left hand section of the trunk floor to make the wheel-well 2" wider. Doing it this way was a little harder, but saved me some $$$. Today, I was able to get almost everything tacked into place. The wider tubs combined with a modified frame (to be done later) will allow for a lot bigger tire on the rear...
