Yes, install the insulation. It will give it a richer sound and tricks the driver into thinking it's in a larger enclosure. Been doing it for years, mostly in sub boxes.

Thanks! Now I have to take it apart and put the insulation in :) ..... In all seriousness, that makes great sense, I should have asked before I rushed to install the speakers.

So how about a long overdue update? I won't type much on what all I accomplished here. I finally got the car on the ground. One thing you guys will notice throughout is I did pull the trigger on the MaxJax lift. It certainly made this process much easier!

On to the pictures:

I decided to go with a Raingear hidden wiper system which works along side my smoothed out firewall. While I obviously haven't had the oppurtunity to use the wipers I will say the overall fit and finish was excellent.

My Fesler Taillights also arrived just in time for me to test fit them. You will notice that I was only able to install the passenger tail light. I actually encountered my first "issue" with the car. The Tail panel is off pretty bad on the driver's side. I am sure it's due to using repop sheetmetal so this area will have to have some work done to it prior to paint. Hopefully the issue is easily remedied. I will say though that the tail lights are top notch. They took a while to get but I am very happy with the quality.

I also purchased a steering column from GM Tilt. Since I plan to use push button start this is a shaved key column Have not installed yet but we all love pictures so here they are:

I also purchased A DSE dash insert to begin the thoughts and overall layout for my dash panel. Not much progress here outside of the switch panel that you see a couple of photos of. I found a source for very high quality switches with a huge assortment of labels that illuminate. Overall a very OEM look. If anyone needs the information just let me know and I will pass along.

And last but not least pictures of various stages as I installed the front subframe, rear suspension and wheels. Also ran into a couple of snags here. For one you will note the hubs on the front wheels protrude past face of the wheel. Not exactly the look I was going for but I have come up with a plan to correct and parts are ordered/on the way. Two, the tie rod is interfering with the wheels but the same solution to problem one also corrects problem two. What the hell, it's just money right? :G-Dub:

The only issue with the solution to problem #1 and #2 is that my brakes that I currently have won't work. Anyone need a set of mocked up Track 4 Baer brakes????

Thats it for this update..next round of updates will likely be a motor. Still deciding which route but believe I am set on builiding a 416 Stroker LS3 using a low lash roller setup. If you aren't familiar with a LLR setup just google and look at the results guys are getting from stock cube LS3 motors.

Nice update, you've got it looking good. That sounds like a nice motor.
