Very interesting kit. I haven't come across this product until joining this forum. I take it, this also changes the bolt pattern to late GM metric pattern?
|
Yes ....and if you have aftermarket spindles that have c6 hubs you now have a matched set ...

I just noticed you have 2 axle styles.
For the full floater style, are those black caps with the set screws and o-rings holding the axle and fluid it? Is there any reason to run one style of axle over the other? |

Both axles ultimately act/perform the same. Some folks may prefer GM/OEM type design/technology, while others may prefer a more traditional style full floater axle. The full float style axle is more cost effective so may be the deciding factor for most.. Great question and thanks for asking. Jay |
Great product!
Jay, awesome product! Got the kit put on my housing and then decided to detail the hubs so I took it all apart again ...
Here's some pics of my install with the caliper forward of the axle which places the parking brake access to the rear which would lengthen the cables to enter from behind the axle .... then this idea came to me!!! Swap the parking brake adjuster/ lever and the parking brake cable bracket from right to left and have the parking brake access in the front now!!! http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...922/DGYKHS.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...922/wgFJyk.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...924/XBJb6f.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...923/Ccdm24.jpg Any reason this would NOT work? Since I have them apart to detail I'm going to mock it up! Michael |
Well this idea bugged me all last nite ... so I got up at o dark thirty and got to work swapping the sides and ... it seems to me that it will work! Please chime in if you see something that I don't but it looks like the angle of the dangle on the cable bracket will work!
FYI ... for redneckery ideas on getting the hub bolts torqued to 94 ft/lbs when both pieces rotate, just stand the wheel up and use the bar to stop the rotation! Just a thought ... hope it helps! http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...924/dr2ihI.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...924/XX5qBJ.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...923/HV1L05.jpg Ok now I have to take it back apart and Loctite and torque all the bolts.
