Here is a small update.
Got the intake for the supercharger and Air filter location finished. Made close out panels for both sides. Air filter will be on the other side of the close out panel.
Made some stainless hard lines for the coolant. It has to go around too many things to do it with a regular hose.

small update cause I'm bored.
I had these tail lights made for me in April of 2010 just never got around to putting them on the car.
I decided since the exhaust runs out the back of the tail panel its too busy to have a RS reverse light. So I had the combination of the RS tail light with the back up lense.

GregWeld 11-09-2011 07:08 PM

Nice!

Not everyone has a drop light for taillights!

Hey -- hurry up and finish that thing. It's got to be done before I draw my first S.S. check! :unibrow:

Vegas69 11-09-2011 07:28 PM

Glad to see you went with the back up lights, I really think that should be a requirement for the Optima Invitational.:D

Starting to get off my but and design some stuff for the camaro.
Going to design a front chin spoiler. Also going to change the front valance to get more air for the intercooler. Rear spoiler is getting tossed and I'll design something for that also.
So I scanned the front and rear of the car to speed up the development of this stuff. I would like to get this all designed before I have to start on other peoples projects coming soon.

settintrendz 12-14-2011 08:56 PM

^^^^^ What he said. Killer. Cant wait to see the additions to the front and rear!!

GregWeld 12-15-2011 06:54 AM

Well hurry up then! 'Cause you have lots of work ahead of you! And "we" aren't sitting on our skirts.

Be sure to post up interim "work details" like whatever it is that you do with this scan in the next step... this is kool stuff.

What type of place did those custom lenses for you? I was also wondering are there places out there that actually make lense shapes for you from scratch.....say if you wanted to make a non traditional shaped tail light? Any ideas?

96z28ss 12-15-2011 10:23 AM

Well in this case, Fesler made them for me, and now offers this option.
If you want something really custom, then they have to be designed and machined. Sky is the limit, just about anything can be done. Price will dictate what you want to do.

96z28ss 12-23-2011 12:25 PM

another small update.
The core support close out panel is done. My inner fenders were done but I had been playing around with the idea of putting some style into them. I decided it needed to be done. It makes everything tie together. Core support and inner fenders match now as well as the side panels.

95% of all metal fab done to the car was done by Tim. The inner fenders were done by a friend of his cause, Tim's Pullmax didn't have enough clearance to get the inner fender all the way around.
