These are stand up guys @ Competition Specialties.
At one of the car shows this summer, they auctioned off a 2,500 paint for charity!!
From what I see from pictures and seeing one of their cars up close, they do good work. They are located about 10 minutes away from where I live.

Pete and the guys do GREAT work. I have seen both Nemisis and Petes personal Camaro up close and personal and can confirm their outstanding fit and finish work. A+ paint finish all the way.
Tony, I am sorry to hear of your story, but can honestly say these guys are the real deal and if you take Pete up on the deal you wont be sorry one bit!
I am even thinking of bringing my cars up there.

I'm sure you will be happy with our paint work.
This is not a your a cool shop for offering line .I learn a lot from this site ( I THINK WE ALL DO) and I have no problem giving back.
If your interested send it down and we will fix it for you.

Now that is quite a offer. I have seen their work and it is spectacular. There are shops that BS to get work and there are shops that let their work do the talking. The work I have seen is top notch. Comp-Spec and StreetKing both get big:thumbsup: Wow !!:willy:

Been There Done That & Moved On

I Live in the Portland area and have finally found a small un-organized somewhat dirty shop with a nice booth and great guys that like to work. Summary of this message is that clean shops aren't always the best place to go. Want a reference zap me an email. Pictures and info on my project will be posted in the very near future.

I know it is a sad story for ned and tony.. But i want them to know that it did help me in a way.

I've saving to paint my car, but I'm doing my car in stages and the paint will be last. As aweful as this was for you, it taught me to do my homework, and cheaper is not always better. When you are on a budget like I am the cheaper part is where I try and stay.. Do as much as possible myself and go to the pros on the stuff I cant.

paint and body work, huge novice..

Good luck tony, hope to see lots of pictures.

Vegas69 08-26-2008 03:34 PM

One hell of an offer Comp Spec!!!! He should get the money pool if he does the car.

trapin 08-26-2008 04:05 PM

The people that are involved in this hobby are some of the best people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. It truely is an honor to call many of the you on both sites my friends.

It's too bad Chris DeShane didn't feel the same. If he did, then he would have done everything in his power possible to make sure that Anthony got the car that he deserved. Instead he just gave up. And in doing so, he gave up on all of us.

I just don't get it. When you've got something great...why ruin it?

Yes it is....but if Pete does the car the donated money will have to go to shipping from one coast ot anothere and back...big bucks really! SW's offer wasn't to pay for shipping, he does a lot of shipping and thought he could get me the best deal possible. SW is a great friend and I love that he is doing what he can for me once again!

Well, having just sorted through 15 pages of incredible peoples comments I must say I'm deeply moved by the brotherhood of this site.

I know I don't post here much (since My car has been on the very slow road to recovery for 6 years) but being one of the few guys geographically close to Tony I had some first hand witnessing to the whole deal. The only thing I can add about the "painter" is he should have refused payment in January and told Tony he was unable to perform the work specified. Then he could have held on to his respect and dignity.

This incident speaks volumes for the character of both Tony and his wife Jennifer. How many of us would have gone on a crusade to harm a person that had done this or spend countless hours and energy dwelling on it and building the negativity. Tony and Jennifer have done a wonderful job of keeping their chins up and being adults about the whole thing, kudos to both of you.

Now lets get this thing rolling so I can help you assemble it like I've been promising for a year!

Thanks for the kind words Dan! You have been a great friend over the years, thanks!

I can't wait to start assembling the car with you...soon, I promise!!

skatinjay27 08-26-2008 06:25 PM

man thats such a cool thing to do pete:thumbsup:

i cant believe all this has come form this thread anthony i guess it was a good thing curtis opened his mouth, i know even he had no idea that this would turn to this!
curtis has been somewhat keeping me up with all you trouble with this car and im so happy for you that things are working out with the car.
im mean if i cant even believe this is happening you must be completly blown away! soon enough anthony it will be back in your garage for the REAL final assembly!!!

I think thats a great idea, use the donation to get the car here, I'm not looking for any money on this project. I just think we can help you out of your ****ty situation.

Yeah Curtis really did the right thing by getting this all out in the open! He never thought/planned it would turn into this, he just wanted me to vent a little before I had a heart attach...and perhaps help others learn from the situation. He knows Jennifer and I are extreamly greatfull of what he started with this thread, and I do owe him a few drinks when I get to Vegas for SEMA!

Yes, I am totally shocked that so many people would pitch in and dig me out of this mess....it's simply awesome! Been a busy few days talking with shops and trying to figure out where to take the car. Bruning came over last night. Thanks TJ & Tim! and really had a good look at the car and are puting a price together for me...they are local and that's nice! BOS also is in the running but they are pretty far away from me and that hurts the over all pricing. And now Pete steps up with a killer offer! I have to get pricing on shipping to see if it's even cost effective to send it to him...but I have a funny feeling it probably is. I'll know more soon!

ArisESQ 08-26-2008 10:50 PM

wow. there are some shady people in this hobby/the car crowd, but then, there are people like the members of this community.
it's really amazing to me what extents everyone here has gone to show their support of anthony.

cees67 09-26-2008 08:11 AM

wow...... just goes to show that if you are a stand up guy good things will always find there way to you .Tony you were a class act in the beginning by not blowing your lid and letting the situation play out and that speaks boat loads of your character.

Comp-spec what an unbelievable thing you are doing i hope this gets out and the favor is returned 10 fold if you were just a little closer to N.y my project would be on its way to you for finishing. :lateral:
