Glad to see you over here. A bunch of great builders and projects combined with some very knowledgeable members makes this site what it is. I live in Martinez and theres a lot of other members from the Bay Area as well. My car is at Ironworks speed and kustoms in Bakersfield having a total makeover. Rich |
What HRE's did you go with?
|
I went with HRE 893
Polished hoops and powder coated clear centers |
Nice pick on the wheels...they look race ready.

What color powdercoating on your centers? |
I went with a polished hoop and brushed centers, then had them powder coated to protect the brushed.

Roll Bar
I wanted a fully functional yet least optrusive roll bar made to date. I think the boys at Ironworks are on the right track.
What do you think? http://eastbayerectors.com/camaro/rb-1.jpg http://eastbayerectors.com/camaro/rb-2.jpg http://eastbayerectors.com/camaro/rb-3.jpg http://eastbayerectors.com/camaro/rb-4.jpg http://eastbayerectors.com/camaro/rb-5.jpg |
Rich that roll bar look AWESOME! I love the floor brace tied into the subframe connectors...those boys over at IW know their stuff.
|
Okay Rich,
So i've spent a bunch of time jotting down notes on how to build a Street Machine of the Year car for Good Guy's Columbus. So far your heading down the right direction. I think this car will have and has what it takes to be in the top five. Keep up the good work guy's this car has all the right stuff. |
Looking good Rich, I like the roll bar. That is the one thing I debated on my car.

Makes me want one too. |
Thats gonna be a tight fit welding around the top of the downtubes
|
It will be easy. We have already laid that out. The cage will flip forward and drop down on the subframe bases we made. We have to make the front halo and down bars next week along with the front subframe connector bars that need to go around the F1.

I can already see you catching the "Ironworks" bug! Those guys build such kick ass stuff you just want more and more! Wait a minute?!? Isn't that like crack?!?:wow:  Quote:
Rich and Rodger the 'maro is really looking killer! John |
Rodger sent a few more pics of the roll bar. As you can see the stock back seat will fit with minimal work. The tubing is 1.75" and you can bearly see it when the doors are closed. Killer work!

WOW for camaro guys your not very sharp, it is a green 68 camaro. Yeah you guys caught me there is 2nd camaro on the grounds. Man I cannot keep anything from you guys........
|
Damn Rodger - you're flirting with the Dark side. Two Camaros............
How's about a 2nd Gen Camaro - hurry before I get tired of seeing them:D The cage looks nice! |
There is 3rd one out back, that I own.......Don't tell the nova guys OK..
I would love to do a 2nd Gen, but I can only do what comes in the Door. The Dale jr 2nd gen is one of my all time favorites. I would also like to do a stock floor 1st gen nova. I love the full on cut the floor out from the firewall back and go to town projects, but the stock floor cars are gravy. Rodger |
