Alright! Now we're talking!! Thanks for the update and pics! It looks great!

That paint will look fine on the dash...depending on the direction you go with the car. It looks like the semi-gloss that we used throughout on my car.

DOOM 12-11-2010 07:59 AM

Wayne... What rear setup are putting in the car?

waynieZ 12-11-2010 01:57 PM

Mario I have an Air Ride four link with coil overs and a Chassis Works Fab 9 with big Ford ends.

DOOM 12-11-2010 05:26 PM

Did Mike do the same Fab 9 as mine?

waynieZ 12-11-2010 06:26 PM

Mine is going to have the back brace and the brackets for the lower links welded on insted of the spring perch brackest. If I remeber thats the same way you went. My wheels are going to have a 5" back space what back space did you go with?

68MaroSam 12-11-2010 07:34 PM

That is awesome Wayne. I can't wait to see pics of the beast.

Yep Mike set mine up for the Quadra link.. I will be setting the rear end in next week to start the offset measuring prosess. Getting ready as we speak to start welding up the tubs!!

waynieZ 12-12-2010 11:46 AM

I'll be watching for your updates.

DOOM 12-13-2010 08:50 AM

I did forget to ask you what color you were going with:question:

waynieZ 12-14-2010 11:14 AM

Mario, thats one of the hardest things to decide. I like the orange that Chris Festler put on the 65 Mustang fastback he did last year I think its a Lamborghini color. I also like the red on the C6 Corvette. But its a tuff decision.

Is Mike painting it ? That Vette red is perfect for that car.. The Lambo orange is a tri coat, big $$$$$$ color....:faint:

waynieZ 12-15-2010 06:44 AM

No I don't have enough to have Mike paint it. I wish I did. The C6 non metalic Red is leading the color choice. I'm leaning towards something easier to touch up beacuse I'm going to drive the car. Before it was taken apart I used to keep it drivable all winter. When ever the road was of clear of salt I would get it out and go for a ride. I'm hoping to do the same when its done.

DOOM 12-16-2010 06:42 AM

Great choice Wayne!! When your ready for paint you give me a call! I have to take care of my fellow MCC guys... Do you have a shop picked out yet:question: If so ask if they use PPG..:lateral:

waynieZ 12-16-2010 07:46 AM

Mario Thank you . I do have a shop picked out Jenning's Garage its a friend of mine. We've been friends since I was 16. He does any accident and paint work for the family. I'm pretty sure he uses PPG but I'll check to be sure.

68MaroSam 12-16-2010 01:14 PM

It is so cool to see your car get to this stage. That red is a gorgeous color. This is an awesome car. It is almost there.

DOOM 12-17-2010 06:52 AM

Let me know when your ready!!!

waynieZ 01-27-2011 07:40 PM

Well it been quite a while sense my last update. This is a good one. I got some great news from Mike at MCC yesterday. The car is close to being done. He had told me he would take care of me for the extra time he took doing the car, but this is way more than I expected. The car was supposed to get the EDP stripped and epoxy primed and undercoated. I didn't have the money to have Mike prep it for paint. So He's going to prep it for paint for me to make up for the extra time he's had it. When I get it back it will only need blocking and paint and the body will be done. Plus he said were square on what I owed him. I can't beleive it. He contacted me a few weeks ago and asked if I needed the trans tunnel raised for the T 56. I asked him how much it would be to do it because I saw that Rich ( 67ragtp) needed the extra room.. He said he would take care of it. This will help me out so much.

Mario has offered to help me out with the materials to paint the car, I don't know how to thank him. It feels like this is finnaly going to come together.

Here are some pictures of my parts.
