Love the Car, needless to say.

How about making some Fiberglass, or Carbon Fiber, Front and Rear Fenders/Short Quarter Panels, for those of us that would like to help you pay for your car?:unibrow:

A Question:

Why is the Gas Filler Cap on the Right side, instead of the Left Side?
===========================================

Keep up the good work, can't wait to get your replies.

Good Luck,

Ty O'Neal

I would love to make those pieces.... But the doors are modified as well. The line would have to be changed a bit to flare them... but not have to cut into the door.
The gas is on the right side because all my previous cars have been on the right. So im used to it.:)

Thats were 75-200 cars meet up on Fri and Sat nights. Lots of cool cars, (mostly) cool people, and if you can stay up late... there is always a cruise to Joes Pizza on Division.

Sounds like a plan. I'm guessing that Dowg Dowgs is done for the season? I'm not real familiar with that end of town, but I'm sure I can find the place.

Do you know your booth # for SEMA. If not I'll keep my eyes open for your car and try and swing by and say hi. I thought I read that Iforged is receiving your car for you so I'll assume that means it is going to be in there booth.

One of my good buddies is a concierge for MGM. He can normally get the super hook up(free / buy 1 get 1 free bottle service) for me when I come to Vegas. If enough car guys are interested in getting some drinks and bull ****ting I can see what he can arrange. I'll be in town Oct. 30th - Nov. 6th.

Im not sure what the booth number is.. but its the IForged booth.

Here's another update. It is getting real close. Soon I will be able to get some nice interior shots.

My 10 year old daughter came by the shop today and was welding up her own project. Pretty cool.:captain:

tones2SS 10-07-2009 06:24 AM

Very cool. She's coming along.

Nice car man. Your daughter gives me hope, maybe I can actually learn to weld at 28.

GregWeld 10-07-2009 06:19 PM

Nice project!!

I L O V E the pix of the daughter...

My daughter loves to come help me in the shed... my son could care less...
Had it not been for my daughters help - I'd have never gotten my lift put together -- (they'd sent me the wrong arms and try as I might I couldn't figure it out...) SHE figured it out! DOH!

Well.... MANY fun hours at the shop the last couple weeks.
The Engine is done and buttoned up. She runs on her base tune..... can't wait to really start running her.
Today the gaps got re-aligned and the doors, trunk, ect were installed. Unfortunately i didn't get any pictures of that. We have some nice ones on the shop camera... but they are to big to upload.
So you'll have to deal with the Blackberry pics from yesterday. lol.
98% of the car is wired up. We are just waiting for my guy to foam and suede the center consul then we can finish the last 2%(window switches and heater controls)
here is a couple pics of her after she DROVE from one end of the shop to the other. :D
Only 10 more days before she gets shipped out to Vegas. The stripes are going on tomorrow... :willy:

phillym5 10-15-2009 07:59 PM

Here is a little clip of it in the shop running. Its a Blackberry video... and its on youtube... so expect the audio to be terrible. Fun to hear it though.

It should be up soon......

When I see you in Vegas, we are going for cocktails.... and I'm buying you a camera.

Stripes got lay'd and spray'd over the weekend!!:unibrow:

Only stuff left to do now is to put all the interior in it... wet sand it... put the bumpers on... align... and tune!!

Should be all said and done by this coming Sat!! :woot:

:captain:

Thanks again for all the compliments. Myself or Brian (Allspeed1) will post a bunch of better quality photo's of the car.. and a bunch of up close photo's of cool pieces that weren't able to be shown with the blackberry. I think we have a thousand build photo's. Anyway.. thanks again.

josh.

tones2SS 10-19-2009 08:15 AM

Very nice Josh. You must be getting pumped!
Car looks great. That rear end looks mean!

Here are a couple more. The car is just about finished. Just buttoning up the interior.... Its looking pretty sick.
My guy Sam whipped up a nice cover piece and painted the shop name on it. Also... i didn't want to lug around a big lap top.. so i got a nice pocket PC to keep the tune in.. and since the car is being driven from Vegas to San Diego.. it will give us plenty of "final tune time"... we had to make the paint scheme on the lap top the same as the car though...lol.

monza 10-22-2009 09:58 AM

Looks fantastic....and you got lots of time to spare!

Well.... here she is in all her glory. These photo's were taken while getting some final detailing... so don't mind the compound stuck in the cracks.. or the dusty trunk interior, kinda dirty interior... or the screw in the center of the door panel(there is a bad ass emblem that goes there)....some places hadn't been fully buffed yet...ect.

We started to tune her.. but ran out of time and had to throw her on the truck for vegas. During the tuning.. we only ran 8lbs of boost. At a measly 3800 rpms.. she made 530rwhp... and 6XX ft pounds of torque. She sounds awesome. Good thing Me ad Brian are driving her from Vegas to San Diego. That should give us some nice time to street tune her. This spring she will get re-tuned at 14lbs...:unibrow: :willy:

Thanks for the compliments throughout the build. Hope to see yous in Vegas!!

BritishGreen68 10-27-2009 07:41 PM

Wow that thing is pretty ridiculous. That rear 3/4 view is just evil.. The only things i would probably do are black out the intercoolers/radiator in the front just so its a little more sinister looking and im not really feeling the asp badge in the back but damn you have a serious ride there...

waynieZ 10-27-2009 08:16 PM

Awesome! they do some beautiful work . I love the quarters they look like they say get out of my way.

Flash68 10-28-2009 01:00 AM

man that is so unique in a world of not-so-unique 69s!

Killer stuff man.

fleet 10-28-2009 07:02 AM

Its always good when people successfully re-invent the '69 Camaro! :wow:

That is sickness right there!! Car looks great!
Did you say that it was 8lbs. of boost was at 530RWHP and over 600FT of torque?!!? lol  That's awesome. Then, you are going to 14lbs.?!!?! What numbers are you expecting at that range? Will it be on pump gas?
We need a video of this beast idling and revving please!

monza 10-28-2009 10:09 AM

That's another killer car out of your shop!

Those HP numbers are sick!

Yeah... and that was only at 3800 rpms... We are expecting 1000 at the tire on pump with 14lbs.
Low boost is expected to be 650-750 at the wheels.
There was some video shot... I'll see if i can get it posted up.

Thanks Monza.......

Hopefully IForged won't be toooo bummed. We tried to get an alignment.. but the inground rack was tied up... so i had to drive her down the street to make sure it was some what straight...lol. The bottom quarter of the car got pretty dirty. She drove straight.. just the steering wheel was clocked a bit.:_paranoid
Then straight onto the truck.:( I miss her already.
Here is a couple crappy photo's in our Michigan weather.

GregWeld 10-28-2009 04:44 PM

Well there MUST BE someone at SEMA selling the latest hi tech wheel alignment gear!! Maybe they'd do yours as a "demo" !!

LOL
