I'm not sure on the name. The Ring Brothers wanted to apply a color that matched the wheels.

Matt, we have to thank Staci @ Ring Brothers for all these fine pictures. Since I live so far from the shop she takes the time to send the pictures to me. It does make me feel like I visit the shop daily. :D

waynieZ 07-07-2010 05:20 PM

Thank you Staci ! I love these up dates.

As you all know it takes time to build these cars...Two Years for me. I could have shown the car done or share the build pictures. I'm not to sure what I should have done now.

My car is not done yet. It will be going to the interior shop soon I think.

It will be introduced at SEMA this Year.

I hope you all can make it.

Once my car hits SEMA I'm told I can share the rest of the build which is so amazing.

Let me know if you folks enjoy the build pictures or if I should just show the completed car when I can.

It's your call.

  :lateral:

Please keep the pics coming, I`m in here several times each day.

Building a `70 myself so its cool to watch the progress :)

JKnight 07-09-2010 01:10 PM

Heck yeah, I love the build pics. For someone who is not naturally extremely detail oriented when it comes to building cars, it's great to see the amount of details that go into these high end builds. Not that I can or will replicate it, but it's fun to look at nonetheless.

mike343sharpstk 07-09-2010 03:24 PM

^^^^^ What these guys said:yes:
This is like one of those serial stories where the reader gets a bit more of the story each day.
A finished car is marginally interesting, how one gets to that point is far more fascinating!:wow:
I look forward to these installments every day:thumbsup:

Thanks again.
Mike

JA - can you share pics of the roof lines, it looks like it's been modified.

Al, you don't miss a thing...I got in trouble for that picture. Yes the roof has been tweeked but that is all I can say for now.

I was informed that the next "Popular Hot Rodding" will have a center fold of the Afterburner and my car will be in the background...so the color will be very obvious at that time. I think it hits the news stands in a couple days.

Let me know what you all think of the color please.

I see its pretty much completed! Is the color a very dark red or a deep burgundy? Looking great!

Al Moreno 07-26-2010 07:26 PM

Just got my Popular Hot Rodding issue.

Very elegant and classy color.

I love the rendering of the interior. Looks like some GT40 influence.

Are you done posting pics till SEMA?

ja.stoner63 07-27-2010 09:57 AM

Thanks...I love the color as well.

You're correct Al on the GT concept.

I always loved that GT design and was wanting to use that concept in my car, the Ring Brothers just made it happen. :unibrow:

As for more pictures, I'm going to hold off till it hits SEMA. After Sema I will flood you all with a ton more build pictures for sure.

Thanks for all the great feedback.

Paint mix code for engine compartment

Can you please share the paint mix code for the black in the engine compartment?

I am in the process of building a 67 coupe and I am at the stage of painting the engine compartment and really would like to paint it the same color.

thanks,

Thanks Morgan, that is the best compliment having you paint yours to match.
You will need to contact the Ring Brothers as it was a custom blend. Ask for Mike Ring as he is the paint Brew Master.

WOW! :faint: This is my second time through all 20 pages. Yes, I have a job. I see more detail each time, incredible. Thank you for sharing. I am looking forward to seeing everything together.

preston 08-25-2010 08:43 AM

Although I'm not a fan of everything Ring does, their absolute greatest strength is colors and coatings and coordination of same. That color looks like breathtaking - not to mention bold and different. I can't wait to see what coatings (wheels, engine bay, etc.) and interior colors they choose.

ja.stoner63 08-25-2010 10:32 AM

I followed the Ring Brothers for Years before deciding to go that route. Their attention to detail is over the top in my eyes.

Glad to here others are into the build as well. Thank you!

Al Moreno 08-25-2010 05:15 PM

JA that thing is ridiculous. Thanks for posting.
