bigtyme1 08-18-2010 07:47 PM

Thanks Nick, More to come soon. I just got off the phone with Tracy. This is why I'm working on the truck Got a long drive out west to pick it up.

Heres just a quick example of the trunk. Tracy will show some more details on his interior post, I build the amp rack and a filler panel prior to shipping the car out but he was able to put in some vents and hidden fans to cool the amps. Tracey also took my filler panel and made it more 3 D to show off the dept. Extreme lighting was used to comunicate with other planets as well. More to come. Tracey Made most of the panels out of Aluminum to keep down the wieght and keep the curves that flow with the rest of the interior.

Lenie 08-18-2010 08:33 PM

Excellent outcome Mark, it's nice knowing after you've put all that work into it, you've picked the right guy to finish the interior off. Looks great Tracy.

boonedog 08-18-2010 08:49 PM

probably over looked it but whats the name of the paint?

awr68 08-18-2010 09:46 PM

Very nice work! I'm almost as excited as Mark to see the final product....and that's darn excited!!!

bulldog19 08-19-2010 01:13 PM

Looking really nice Mark!! When i last spoke to you you were undecided whether 1 or 2 subwoofers in the trunk? Tracy what protects the amps in the floor clear lexan? Amazing work.

awr68 08-28-2010 08:27 PM

The latest on Mark!!

As this builds finally comes to an end I just wanted to take a little time to tell my story and show some appreciation for allot of fellow members that have helped all of us out. Since the start of this build during the past seven years I have had twins, built a new garage, remolded the house and even brushed with death recently. I have met hundreds of new friends and have acquired some of the best possible help from the professionals in the business. I been welcomed into their houses and invited them to mine. Not only have I gotten pretty much 100% of my parts from Lateral G and Pro-Touring Members but I have had some very late night conversations 7 days a week on Building techniques, best parts to fit my build and where to get the best steak when I’m traveling around the country. I built this car with no sponsors but I still wanted to show off all the help that was given to me. Ben and I came up with a way to show off the car and thank most of the people that helped me out. None of these sponsors were charged a dime to be on this shirt. It’s my gift to them, you may also notice there are some sponsors that I did not use their parts, but their friendship has become greater than the build.
We are approaching the end of the build and it will soon hit the public completed. Please enjoy the shirts and show off are fellow Friends and Sponsors. It can only help them as they have helped all of us. I’ll be the first to admit, I’d be lost without them.
Thanks
Mark, AKA Bigtyme1

Shirt looks great. We are proud to be on there, you have done a amazing job. And Michael will never forget flying in like the celebrity car builder to help, LOL! Glad to help, cannot wait to see it!

You talk about the camaraderie. I could not agree more, I sometimes feel like that country song, "I am so much cooler online" because I sure have more internet friends then friends around the corner. Love ya man, see ya in Vegas!

HRBS 09-15-2010 06:11 AM

Well put.
I remember all the late night conversations we had like it was yesterday. The car has truely been the centerpiece of our new found friendship and I am certain we will remain friends well after the build. You did a great job on the car Mark and should be proud. HRBS is honored to have been able to help with both parts and advice and I am thankfull I have the privilege of calling you "friend" !

awr68 09-15-2010 06:19 AM

Shirt came out great guys! Thanks for having me on it! As you know, I value our friendship and am very honored to have been able to help with the build....and thanks for having us over for dinner when we did the East Coast tour!! Good times! See ya soon buddy!!

Hey guys, You should know that Mark is hoping to sell quite a few shirts to help with the major expense to get his car to SEMA this year. He can get it into SEMA...but he has to get it there and home on his own dime....and that costs a lot due to the fact that he lives on the east coast! So do what you can to help a brother out!! Thanks!! :lateral:

Mark the way you just put all that said really sums up what I see this sport/hobby is all about. I am drawn to these sites for the same reasons you talk about and I am really happy you are able to have this car going so far to the top of the chain to have it in SEMA. Can't wait to see the car and meet you first hand:cheers: Well said!!

Oh and congrats on the twins:thumbsup:

Thanks Nick, unfortunately SEMA looks like a no go this year. I'm out of money and sponsors are tight on money this year. I will get some good picks up soon were trying to work out all the details.

I know this is a big bucket list item for you. I know you kinda had your heart set on it. But you ain't missin nothing. To be honest I found my first SEMA experience quite disappointing. I had no aspirations or fantasys of any big awards or anything, I was not disappointed that way. But had a true "that was it" feeling about the middle of the second day. Now the fact that I am in the business there were some benefits that came with 5 years in a row of sometimes 3 cars there. But I tell people all the time, if you ARE NOT in the business, it is about the worst show you could take your car to.

It is all about ego if your not directly in the business and there is plenty of other opportunities to show it to the world (like pictures here would be a good start, LOL).

I am not taking anything this year and I could not be more excited. Larry got a call from someone wanting MotiV8tr (would be 3 years in a row) and I talked him out of it. I am just thrilled to have no responsibilities this year. Those that have shown there will understand.

Fly out and have a good time, and bring pictures.

Mark,

I have been meaning to post how awesome the car has turned out. Being a PA guy as well, I have to get out to see this thing. Very Very nice. Oh, a question. How are you handling shifting the car? I see the paddles, but I mean how are you doing the park, reverse, drive thing? Did I miss a shifter in the console pics? Again, very nice!

Chad, everything is done by the paddles. It's called a master shift that is located in the trunk of the car That paddle tell the computer in the trunk to mechanicaly move a cable that is connected to the trans. It works well but I still need to dial it in. Going from R to D can be tricky and from 1 to 2. once I'm in second it works great. Will get it dialed in before spring.

Thanks Mark. Please update us when you get things dialed in. I'm very curious as to how this works. I like the look of your console with no shifter.

Last week I thought I'd try out my wifes new Camera. Wanted to get some good shots before the snow hits. Monday it goes to the dino for some tune work. Then will start perfecting some stuff over the winter months. Need to finish the engine compartment and a few other things.
