I couldn't see where the Astro ventilation system begins and ends.

Likely too late now, but I hope the blaster didn't damage it.

DOOM 09-07-2010 08:17 AM

All cleaned up!!I was happy with the results after blasting only two bad spots to metal finish. This weekend I gave it a quick acid wash and two coats of PPG DP90 epoxy. Today I can start putting parts back on !!!!!:willy:

fleet 09-07-2010 08:27 AM

Looks good Mario.

The blasting probably removed most of the hidden vermin, varmits and associated rodentia.

just curious as to what they charged you to blast your car? I have alittle bit more left of my cuda but close! Thanks

awr68 09-07-2010 06:31 PM

Let the fun begin!! :woot:

waynieZ 09-07-2010 06:56 PM

It looks sweet Mario. Now atleast when you work it will show you progress instead of removeing parts. Is the floor all Dp 90 primed already?
I asked Mike to spray my trunk area with the black if he needed to re prime it, so it will be easier to put the aqua trunk paint on later.

$200.00 plus I had some small stuff . I used Stowe's in Joliet Ill..

DOOM 09-13-2010 07:03 AM

Quick update .. Installed the inner quarter sections over the last few days. Feels good to put parts ON the car . I also had some help from Lateral member Mike Kelly (65 347) he stoped by and lent a hand. Mike welded and I ground. It does'nt look like much, but I have to tell ya you get tired of grinding real fast, and welding on this old thin metal is a bit tricky. Rockers next!!:willy:

tones2SS 09-13-2010 07:23 AM

Moving right along Mario.
Good luck bud!

GregWeld 09-13-2010 07:32 AM

Mario --

You need to fire up "Wipeout" on the stereo --- turn it up loud --- and grind baby grind...

Great to see her going back together!

i'm in Maui right now. I have the rockers fitted and ready to weld on. The drip rails do not go in the window channel. They do sit under the roof panel.

brakebuster 09-26-2010 11:32 PM
